Just to add to the debate.... I would rather have a 1199 with stock pipe than a 899 with Akra....

I was thinking the same thing.

Maybe the db killers were still in??
I do think the 899 doesn't sound as loud as the 1199 anyway, from what has been on the comparison videos between them in those shootouts.

Db killers were removed. My bike is a baby pani lol. shes growls and yours roars lol

How does the RapidBike unit work with the 3 different riding modes?

according to yahem in orlando, this module self adjusts to everything on the bike. You would have to speak with him to get all the technical knowledge. I don't try to act like I know something when I don't. The mods are being shipped from italy so I'm not sure who's doing the manufacturing of it? JeffD suggested and I trust his word.

All i know steve is i get to ride this beautiful bridge every single day with the sea breeze in my face and beautiful views with 9 miles of hauling ass happiness. And down hear in FL the women are always gorgeous and in their bikinis my friend. And they seem to like the rumble of my humble 899 lol :)

Sounds great... But I think you slightly misunderstand me.... There is nothing humble about the 899...My simple brain just says 899 money plus Akra equals 1199 money... and that's it in a nutshell for me.. :)

Yes, you have to talk to Yaman to get all the details. What I understand of his setup is that he had the Rexxer flash to disable the OEM O2 sensors and raise the redline slightly (may be some other things). This enabled the Rapidbike Module with their wideband O2 setup to do self-mapping via the software. So you ride the bike with closed loop to get the fuel adjustments wherever you want around stoichiometric AFR. Go test ride, repeat to your heart's content.

The same dyno night that my 1199 put down 179 to a HP4 Competition's 183, Yaman put down 177 which was a gain of 8 wheel hp before his tuning.

very true steve. But i would have wanted all the aftermarket I got and the price would have exceeded what I had in my mind. Thats why I chose the 899.

Thanks for the info Jeff,
RB Race or EVO systems actually use the bike stock O2 reading and make adjustments accordingly instead of sending instead of sending one steady constant fake signal to ECU (provided you haven't turned the o2 sensors via ECU flash) it then makes constant adjustments , it is called adaptive tuning and this is for both cylinders all the time. this is not anything like ZFi or Autotune , those are data loggers and with those you still need to retrieve and except changes and it stays permanent until you decide to datalog and make changes to the main map, RB Race or EVO system do have base maps but in addition to that you have your trim maps for both cylinders constantly being adjusted and applied all the time.
Lets say your bike was tuned on the Dyno with PCV and lets say your Dyno tuner was focusing on wide open 100% throttle to show some impressive numbers (let's hope not! :) ) but anyways, say 4th gear %100 , no ram air , he gets the map perfect and you get a decent graph nice peak power. Well as much as there is nothing wrong with that but what about real time riding, temperature difference and such let along engine temp in the dyno room or trailer has a lot to do with during tuning if the operator is not careful as keeping engine temp down or in proper range readings will be different.
Oh I won't even mention gear based mapping as most of latest sport bikes have , so think of RB race or evo systems as your full time workers if you are on a track where you know your only gonna use 1-2-3 most of the time and most of your tuning was 100% wide open throttle focused tuning guess what? the tuning isn't going to feel right! Like I said before our shop will be selling those units and out of 12 systems I have ordered 6 are sold but we will build our stock and won't have to order them from Italy all the time, Rapid bike will also be @ Cycle Pro on May 24th for a Presentation Party and for our formal training on products.... YOU ALL ARE INVITED !!!!! :)
