Akrapovic Full system Warranty

Hi guys i own a V4 2019 in India!
I was told by the dealership that we are only allowed to install a Akrapovic Full System if we fit anything else it will void the warranty!
they are selling it for 12k Australian Dollars which is INR Rs 610,000.

I got one for about half price from US with the Up map and they refuse to fit it, they are saying that it should be purchased within India from our dealerships, they are saying if we fit it it will void the warranty!

I wanted to know is this fair practice, is that the way all countries Ducati Head office are or is it just India?
Please help if anyone can or help me!!

Exhaust doesn't void any warranty. To void any kind of warranty, they would have to prove that whatever problem you encounter in the future was caused by the installation of the exhaust. Lot of dealers use this fear tactic but that's b.s. They can't just void a warranty because they feel like it. If you have a warranty problem that is not exhaust or engine related, they would have to honor the warranty, even if you ran the bike with no exhaust at all. If you got a better deal elsewhere, that's not a reason to void it. Any brand exhaust would be fine.
 
The warranty issue comes into play when you start messing with electronics. It would be pretty simple for Ducati to show a non approved ECU adjustment caused an issue.
The other issue is if you do not remap for an exhaust system and you run too lean you could have combustion chamber issues which Ducati would also prove to be due to the exhaust.

The exhaust itself, not an issue. It's the side effects.

Throw as much work toward your dealer as you can, stop in and "get friendly" with them and you could find them fighting on your side if something were to go wrong.
