BlueBear What is the make of the silver Rear brake pot please? Also did the bracket come with it too?

On the SL the link pipes go a sea blue from the header all the way back. My mate can't believe how loud it is and how far away you can hear it coming. The Akro's are amazing.

Good post. Working on Ducati's takes ages.

I agree they are loud. With the OEM system I could ride without earplugs and it was not too bad. I wear earplugs anyway just to try to protect the hearing a little. Now however with the Akra, even with the DB killers in, unless I have the foam (33db) earplugs in correctly, I notice it straight away and have to stop to adjust. I just found last weekend that the earplugs should only be used a couple of times as they lose the ability to expand properly and fill the space in the ear canal and therefore are not as effective in blocking the noise. I ended up buying a bulk box of 200 pairs for $50. Use a new pair now each time I ride.

For those fitting be very careful and do a thorough final clean with the WD40 or similar to ensure you have removed all finger prints. I missed one small spot under the rear header bend and I can still see it under the gloss carbon fibre heat guard. Do this before the first heat cycle.

I saw you post Willkson so looks like as I get more miles on it the colour will keep changing.

You can see the photos from my thread on my bike. Was an awesome shade of blue at one point and my last photos posted, you can see that almost all of that blue is gone. Sucks since it worked so well with my color scheme. Oh well. Not a big deal.

you mean rear brake reservoir?
if you do.. its rizoma... i just use stock holder..

Whilst I'd like to use the Rizoma pot, as it fits perfectly. We can't find an appropriate bracket to work on my SL in place of the OEM pot. I have spoken to MooreSpeed who supplied me the kit and they'll make a bracket to fit. However I'll have to take the bike to them so they can manufacture 1, which I can do until later on in June.

Thanks for the heads up.

where did you get ur Akras from Bluebear? I'm about to follow along lol. Cheapest I can find is from Omina Racing?

Great job BlueBear! Thanks for the video..

You mentioned ducati releasing a 2015 akrapovic version? Do you know when this is coming out and if it is worth to wait?

Thank you, BlueBear. Those were fun videos to watch. However, I need to quit watching videos like this because it makes me want the Akras. I told myself that the stock exhaust was "enough". We will see, lol.

people have PM asked me the same question and i thought ill post what my normal answer...

hi mate...

tips
follow instruction to the bone...
take your time...
the exhaust shield be a pain in the arse and super tight squeeze... just cover it and pull it out wont scratch anything...
use correct tool for header as its really close to radiator...
wd40 for clean twice or 3 times
exhaust change color within 1000km blue - 3000km and its almost gone...
even if you could refresh the exhaust.... if be costly and demanding...
i wont bother and enjoy that its titanium light weight with power gain midrange....

regards Blue

Great video. Looks like quite the project. Might have to wait for a winter to do this, oh and cash for the Akra :)

You are better off removing the fans and re installing them after it just makes getting to the front header a easier job .

Good advice W. I removed that fan shroud when I did the job and loosened the radiator mounts as well to get to that pesky top nut on the forward cylinder exhaust.

Its a simple easy job if you take your time. And don't forget to clean all your finger marks off before you fire it up.

Hey guys, just picked up my first Ducati ever (Base 1299) from Fast by Ferraci near Philadelphia. I had them install the Akro slip on and now thinking about having them put the link pipe on when i take it back with 600 miles for break in service. Two part question for the group:

1. Will there be a difference in the size of the link pipe and if so, will it include the heat shield?

2. If i have them remove the DB killers (baffles) will the exhaust be noticeably louder?

Thanks so much in advance for the info.
BTW this bike is freaking incredible, I think we are all very lucky to say we own this beautiful machine.

Just ordered pitbull stand for it, ill take them out once i can get the bike upright. I'm guessing take the rubber buttons out, unscrew and then pull straight out with a rag? Are they snug fit, my only concern is marking the can trying to pull baffles out
