Cosmok I finally parted with my Paul Smart, "Jewel", which I've had since zero miles. That was a hard decision to finally let her go. But she's got a good home and caretaker and won't be subjected to anymore dangers of the track.

Love this bike. Never really "knew" about it since during this time, I was too busy traveling, working and living abroad.

Thanks again Flo. I finally sat on her for a few minutes this evening. Stock seat and pegs are still on but she'll feel better with the race seat and spare rearsets installed.
There's two inches of virgin rubber on each side of the rear tire to enjoy for a little while. :p

Yep get them ergos dialed. Sounds like you got some fun work to do to break in the whole tire!

If your ever sad and need to see a Paul Smart to brighten your day, you can come see mine and ride it around the block.

Did you pass that rear stand on to the new owner? I need to get me one...

Jewels not that far away and I have visitation rights. They went out on their maiden voyage today and he loved it. The Pitbull went with her. You need to get the SC specific one with the three pads. The regular twin pad style will let them slide back and possibly off the stand.

The first time I saw one other than the magazines was at the 2005 MotoGP at Laguna Seca on Ducati Island. I knew I wanted one then and there.

Wow, nice one

But a word of warning, spend some time with the R first. It may end up your favourite and the Anni for your track bike :D

(If I could own a second R for the track and keep one for the road I would, hands down no question ;) )

Lol Mutt don't go giving me anymore crazy ideas. I'll put a plate on it this year to try out on the twisties for a little bit. But I know where she's going :D

OH YEAHHH!!! Now we're talking!
Congrats. a real beauty you've got there!

Thanks KMY. I've got a little work to do to set up the ergos for me. Also as I said earlier, the clear windshield needs to go back on, evap can to come off, remove flapper motor and wire the valve open to start.
I neeed to get by KFG so Barry can give me a baseline suspension setup. I've been away from the track for too long. Looking forward to some trackdays on her this year.

Some friends already hinting at me getting back to racing next year but I don't know lol

That's bad ...... I better see your "Transformation" thread soon. I'd love an R for a track assassin.

It's going to be a slow transformation. Number one priorities are ergos, getting baseline on suspension, getting her out on the track, and thinking out each step to make the best use of my dollars.

I'm telling you man, the R is the one to have. Pin the throttle don't short shift, you have to wait for the limiter and tell me this thing isn't nuts from 10,000 rpm upwards.........

Oh I believe that. I've no problem running the high rrrrrr's on the track. I'm looking forward to it. The low end torque of the 1299 is nice in the mountains near home. I just run higher gears to not attract attention.

I was hoping to test the R out at the track on Sunday but it looks like a bad rain day.
Damn Washington weather.

DAMN the PNW weather!!!!!

Man I was really looking forward to those Pirelli slicks you were sending me for Christmas :(

Maybe next Christmas? :D

At the rate I'm spending money burning through fuel, I may be able to stretch for a pair of old age hardened Dunlop ditch-finders I found cutting about last weekend!

PS that picture of your garage is really doing you no favours!

You did notice only one bike has a rear stand right? Sniff sniff

You also notice I don't have a daily transportation bike? I'd appreciate that Christmas gift of a Monster R or Multi Pikes Peak as walking 38 miles each way to and from work is quite exhausting.
