Was a painless process. Except getting caught in a downpour on the way home.
They checked my recall bolt, no discreps there.
They changed the oil and showed me where the filter is, so I can do my own maintenance later. That was different than expected. Also he spoke about the plastic cover on the bottom that can collect oil that could cause a fire. He said just move it to the side when draining the oil and there will be no troubles. Also be sure to put the filter and o-rings on correctly.
Cleaned, checked adjustment and re-lubed the chain. Glad too, I hadn't removed the white grease as of yet. The silver is just blinging now.
Checked for code errors and re-torque on multiple bolts. There may be more, but I didn't want to hover over the tech and bother him.

While I was there I had them set the preload for my weight. Best upgrade for this bike yet!!! I weigh 175lbs and the front was set very stiff. The rear didn't need very much adjustment. The ride home was so much better. Can't be said enough how different it feels.

Now, I'm ready for the track in two weekends...

Hope ya told Dave you met me on here man? May have gotten you a free Panigale poster if you did! lol

I did and they charged me twice the amount, lol.

Just kidding. I hung out with Jason for a bit in the back. Was very informative. Plus I got some leads on some okay roads around east Virginia.

Thanks for reminding me to loosen my forks up too! Things were so stiff. (I'm close to the same weight.)

I went with Royal Purple Break-In after 20 miles then up to 1200 and after that I'm running Royal Purple Max-Cycle 20W-50 oil.

Was at ducpond this morning gunny, didn't see you there. What time did you get there?. I dropped off the bike for first service and spoke to bill about adjusting the suspension a bit. He gave some very good insight on going with full termi's vs slip on's which unfortunately I can't disclose on this forum.

DeltaIV, I answered you're poll. But unless I bring my oil to the dealer, they put Mobile 15w50 race in my bike. I'll probably stick with it. It's easy to find. Never know where I get stationed, like here in E-city. Not much choices of bike stores and supplies around here...

Any reason you went for the royal purple? I went for the Motul 300v 15w50

I just really like Royal Purple. I also like AMsoil and Silkolene but I can buy the Royal Purple online for $100 for 12 QTs and it's made in the USA. The 20w-50 should be fine as it rarely get's low enough to warrant the 15w.

$117 for 12 Qts

One thing I forgot to mention that I had completed during service: Take a look at your rear brake reservoir. I had my fluid replaced as it was black only after one month and 700 miles. I know that smaller reservoirs will darken over time, but I wasn't impressed that it broke down that quickly.

Mine is scheduled for Friday. I am also ahving them install the RG radiator guard, as I don't think I want that headache!

I find that my bike heats up much faster with the radiator guard on. Do a few circles around the block and I am hitting 210.f. cruising temp at 180+ with 70.f ambient

maybe its one of those things that Ducati would have included if they thought it was necessary.
