Hi folks
I found this forum when searching for 1299S suspension setup info.
A quick flick through this forum points to plenty of knowledgeable contributors.
I picked my bike up last week. This week it's booked in for first service and Akra slipons.
I have lots to learn with this bike.
Regards Chip

Welcome Chip,
What part of the Country?
Central Tablelands of NSW. One of the colder parts of the country.
Went for a run through the hills yesterday when the ambient temps didn't crack 10 degrees celcius. Engine temps stayed in the mid 60's for most of the top gear riding.
Any other cold climate riders notice this?
I'm getting a few engine error warnings that I find distracting and a couple of cold mornings saw half a dozen attempts to start it. Then this morning with the temp at 6, it started first crank.

NT would be a tough gig with a sports bike wouldn't it?
I picked up the bike in Sydney last week with 32 deg C. It was uncomfortably hot but dropped to 18 in the Blue Mountains. I had opted for Draggin Jeans because of the hot weather but was ready foe a comfort seat after 350km clicked over.
Went for a 450km run on a cold Sunday in leathers and no discomfort at all. I think I need some ventilated summer leathers for this bike.

Welcome

I'm is Sydney. Best mod you can do is get TuneBoy fitted. It'll sort out all your fuelling issues and the bike will run a lot cooler as it won't be running so lean. As far as suspension settings go, here's how Glen Allerton from GASD set mine up for the track:

Front sag: 30-35mm
Rear sag: 20-25mm
Both set after the first 20min session and the suspension hot.

Front compression: 12
Front rebound: 10
Rear compression: 14
Rear rebound: 14
S.Damper: 12

Cheers, Phil

Yep it was at SMSP, $120 that included initial settings then tweaks after every session if you wanted it.

Thanks for the info Phil.
Mine is 33 front and 26 rear, as delivered.
I softened all my settings to 12 and set the dynamic intervention to "Softest".
I covered some rough roads on today's 330km run and things went well.
