Just got my DP race seat in the mail today (thanks Frog!).

Anyway, only went out for a short ride.....but so far....

Does make you sit higher up on the bike than the oem seat. I am more on my toes at stop lights and I am about 6 foot even.

Way more grippy than that slip n slide oem stock seat

sits you a little farther back from the tank so your balls are not constantly smashing into the tank.

Firm, but comforatable

It was a little cooler tonight here, but I honestly think the extra thickness in the seat helped shield a bit of the furnace I felt under my ... (not the right thigh heat shield thing, but under the seat). Didn't get nearly as hot as the oem and I was bad and wore jeans tonight. With leathers on I imagine it will be even better.

All in all I don't know how the "comfort" seat compares, but I think this is a must have addition if you aren't too short.

same here could not agree more......I got confused reading all the different stock, vs comfort, vs rate threads and going back and forth in my head with what i would do - just just went for the race seat, also TOTALLY transformed the bike for me, well worth the money!

Great assessment - thanks! I've ordered this through my local shop and am especially pleased to hear that it positions you back away from the tank. Hard braking will be a LOT less, uh, uncomfortable ... :D
