Last time I saw boots like that on a man riding a motorcycle with make-up on was........Gene Simmons at a KISS concert!

As someone who nearly took the long dirt nap from just "riding around town" at low speed (granted it was in Manhattan, but still), I can attest to the value of ATGATT. I used to dress in gear depending on how "serious" I was going to be when out for a whip, and on that day I just happened to be heading to NJMP, so was in full-zipped in leathers when I was hit.

My foot was nearly ripped off despite wearing Sidi race boots and I needed a titanium upgrade, etc. Had I been wearing shoes like in the OP I'd definitely have a prosthetic where my ankle used to be.

Agree mate. When I was 18 I went for a really short ride to see a mate on my Z900 Kawasaki. On the way home a car went thru a red light and almost ripped my right foot clean off. The car never stopped. Anyway I only had sandshoes on as it was only 10 minutes away. If I had had some decent boots, my leg would have been broken but not as bad as it was. Now I am 53 and the injury is starting to really effect the way I walk. BTW can,t wait to hear about your SL.

Current status is "ON WATER" and guidance is from dealer is that it will show up sometime next week. Trying to keep it together until then

This is thread is hopelessly jacked anyway...

The bike has landed! It is through customs and should be at FBF in a few days (Tues/Weds). I even have a VIN and everything (kinda brings a tear to the eye).

Still no idea what # I am as I'm told they'll need to uncrate it to find out.... it's the final countdown (cue the synth)
