Hey Guys

I ride about 20,000km (not inc big trips) a year split between my KLR, SXV, and 1199. The 1199 is the only one to consistently get flats each summer. Murphy's law says the one with the most expensive tire will be the one to pop. I'm guessing the softer tires just aren't up to any road debris...I run 38psi rear 34 front

Between my plug kit or Ducati roadside (bad puncture) I've been able to get myself home but I'm still stuck with the cost of a replacement tire with only minimal mileage on it.

Sooo my question is ride on. I haven't used it as I read it decreases tire temp, exactly what I don't want when I'm hauling around the canyons. Can anyone chime in? Are street temps on the tires still warm enough with ride on? I'm going to switch to Q3s after this front runs out by the end of summer for more reasonable replacement costs

Or you could get tire insurance from the dealer. Haven't had to use it on the Pani yet but I've used it 3 times in the past on previous bikes. Well worth the cost which is less than a set of Pirelli's. 5yr coverage. Look into it but it won't cover other tires as far as I know. Just OEM.

I'm thinking flats have more to do with where you ride than when you ride or what the temps are. It took me two flats in a previous car (as well as several people at work with the same problem) to figure out that I was riding the same route as a bunch of apt. construction trucks who had been spilling nails all over the road with careless impunity.

I agree,
Let ducati give you new ones..

I purchased the insurance and plan to cash out the maximum amount of times in my 7 years

THanks for the heads up - as suspected tire insurance isn't offered here (Canada) yet though my dealer said they will bring in the program within a few years
