Hi phil,
My panigale now has 80 miles and i'm doing what you sad on the post, try to pull from 3000 rpm throught 6-7000 but sometimes if i'm with open gas the bike jerk a lot until i pass the 5500 rpm.Does yours do the same?
Thanks

yes, there is like a drop in the power, with fully opened throttle. you'll get used to it... and above there, it's where the party starts. a way to avoid it, is pulling the rev's smoothly though, and then open the throttle wide.

it is said that with the full termignoni system that spot is eliminated.

Roma, che bella! been there for a week on a school trip in 1998...

how's the run-in going so far?

The Ozark Mountains of Arkansas

600 miles in 2 days. Varying rpms up and down the hills with beautiful scenery and temps in the high 70s to low 80s. Thanks to the experts at AMS in Dallas who prepped all the press bikes on their dyno including mine, no smoke and not a drop of oil used in 650 miles. I kept the rpms below 6000 first 100 miles and then below 7000 until the oil service light came on @ 1000kms. The only issue I had was with the heat and my right leg, I got burned pretty bad. Ducati is working with AMS to sort things out. In the meantime they have wrapped my pipes with heat tape that looks like carbon fiber and added some material under the shield. They are also looking into the fuel mapping for the back cylinder to be sure it is not running too lean.

HA! Cmon man.

I was wondering if anyone has gone over the first 1000km break in before getting the first service done. I live 8 hours away from the nearest Ducati dealership. I have been driving it easy and never goin over 6k rpm. I let it warm up for a minute or two before i start to ride. I have 1300km on it now and am planning on going to the city really soon. Would it be advisable to take a few laps every few days as is driving it gently or letting it sit for a month in ths nice wheather? Has anyone had break in problems with thier Pani's?
