As some of you may remember I bought a set of DP rear sets from Protomanx8 on this forum and they were not as advertised.
Left peg frozen
bolt hole for heel guard stripped
missing parts....shift rods and essential bolts, etc.
I feel I can revile his name here as I contacted him and he claimed he'd go to his dealer and talk to them, as they did the install and removal, (the Duc Pond). If that is true then I would stop going to them as they obviously have done a .... job. Needless to say Protomanx8 never got back to me...........
But this isn't about him it is about another forum member that deserves recognition on many levels..... VAST
VAST is a fellow New Yorker and 1199R owner. Reading my plight and knowing I was dead in the water trying to source the parts to complete the install, he reached out to me. But that is trivializing what he did. He having the same DP rear sets, sent me all the parts he had left that he did not use...(several hundred dollars in parts) along with spares from the OEM rear sets.
He took no money. I mean I offered and he absolutely refused. I got him to take the 30 bucks he paid for shipping the parts out to me in Saudi. VAST is an Awesome human being and should be elevated to supreme being on this forum for such an act.
Unfortunately, people like VAST are too few while people like Protomanx8 seem to be the norm.
Thanks to VAST for getting me back out on my bike and showing that great people are still out there, and some ride Panigales!
