BMC vs K&N filter

I'm sure there are a lot of views and thoughts on the subject of air filters in general and I can't answer your question but have some additional questions. Why have you narrowed it down to K&N vs BMC? What about Sprint and MWR? Or just sticking with the stock filter?

Not much gain from stock?

From everything I've read and heard on the subject, an air filter isn't going to gain much if anything in the HP dept. Some think it's a waste and you should stick with stock as the aftermarket high performance filters allow more air but along with that comes more dirt through it. Also an air filter alone does much of nothing without exhaust and tuning.

I've had a MWR and Sprint filter in my RSV4 and my butt and abilities cannot tell the difference.

I have exhaust and Rapid Bike with stock filter. I wonder if a filter would transform it?

Your probably talking 2hp at best, the reason I like k&n is rewashable/reoil.

Not much gain from stock?

We have debated this for years with the vendors, one claimed 6 hp.

Others refuted it with dyno runs, seemed some tuning was added to gain the 6
so I take it with a grain of salt. A good tune will change that or more.

Like I said when my stock is done, I'm doing the cheapest replacement that has higher flow then stock.

Don't over think this one, the stock filter is not restrictive to the point of robbing HP
