My title makes absolutely no sense. My computer decided to reword and change my spelling.

Just wanted to add to the list of bolts that fall off. Bolts were installed super tight with loctite.

Went for a ride to Fast By Ferraci from North Jersey, and when I got home I found two bolts missing for my new DP tank cover.

Just venting. So.... now how can I get these POS bolts replaced??

Gods way of telling you there was nothing wrong with the original tank cap. LOL

Nah, they were all there when I began riding. An hour later, gone. Clearly vibrated off.

The OEM tank cover is god awful. I live in New Jersey and all gas stations here have Stage II Vapor Recover Nozzles (aka, big obnoxious fueling devices) that made it close to impossible to fuel the bike up with the original design.
I should've gone with the Rizoma one like other people expressed their opinions to do so.

I just need to get these two bolts!

Even if you installed yourself, I would attempt warrant request first to have those replaced, otherwise, as for a part lookup and order the two bolts, I bet the bolts are $15 and up for one. As an example a original fairing bolt costed me over $7 for one. I bought a spare for my bike just in case.

Unfortunately we have all experienced this chronic issue and there have been many threads here about it too - Mark419NY comes to mind most.

Loctite is our friend for life and I'd def recomemnd the gel too. Very odd losing tank bolts like this in your case though. Hmm.
After installing the Titanium Proti bolts on entire bike you better believe I used both the thread lock they sent with them amd the gel I speak of. Cant be too sure ya know?

For screws that you don't intend on ever having to remove, I would use locktite RED. For ones that require regular maintenance, blue.

Unfortunately it does not appear that all the expertise of the Corse team funnels to commercial product, because if it did, small stuff like this wouldn't be happening, unless the race bikes have no fuel lids.

Bad news as per your title you will die eventually -not on your bike hopefully but at a really old age

I have the DP filler and didn't install with Loctite and have had no issue with the bolts coming loose

Yes, this bike does have a nasty habit of shedding bolts. The R is worse. On my first track day, I spit out like four bodywork screws, and my aftermarket brake lever piston rod clevis bolt, which had loctite, thank you. I thought I was being nice by not totally torquing the hell out of everything, but you need to really wrench on things with these bikes.

Maybe take one out and measure size and pitch and hit up a local hardware store? Maybe you'll get lucky and find them in stainless? Or order online...perhaps titanium? Hehe
