Hi guys, i street ride mainly and was considering getting a brake lever guard. I mainly am considering this as i am in CA and i ride daily and lane split all the time. Any thoughts??? Whay about clutch lever guard?

I have the Gilles Tooling lever guards on BMW S1000RR and BMW S1000R. I used to have the CNC Racing lever guards on my Ducati but didn't really like the gap between the lever guard and hand grip on the clip on. I think the spacers that came with them made it look as thought there was something missing. Although some guys like that look. And I wasn't a fan of the black hard plastic piece that was used as the lever guard. However I did like that you could choose the color of the main housing using that bolted into the clip ons. Here is a link to the brake lever guard on Bellissimoto's website. There is a matching clutch lever guard as well. However each is sold separately. And each one costs $159.95. CNC Racing Brake Lever Guard You would also have to buy 2 lever adapters which cost $29.95 each CNC Racing Lever Guard Adapters Then I sold the CNC Racing lever guards and bought the Gilles Tooling lever guards for my Ducati since I have them on my two other bikes. The spacers that come with these look great. They are gloss black, the same size as the main unit that mounts to the clip ons and comes with the adapters. I got into an accident 9-11-2020 and they did the job. It was the drivers fault. The bike hit the car as it jumped in front of me at such an angle on the highway while I riding to the right side of the middle lane that I didnt even have enough time to react and try to avoid her and jump into the right lane. The lady was in the right lane and her nose was a little further back than my rear tire. I know this because I was about 300ft from the exit lane and wanted to get into the right lane. She sped up and when she just passed me as her rear was a little bit in front of my front tire she jumped into my lane and I wound up hitting her. I hit the brakes and crashed into her rear left quarter panel. Good thing I hit her while she was at an angle. It absorbed most of the hit I slid along side her car for a bit before hitting the ground. This ..... hit her brakes as she jumped into my lane. No clue why. She told the cops she got scared because she realized she cut me off. I didnt understand the logic. So my right gilles lever guard hit her car. Protected my hand, and after the bike went down it protected my Jetprime controls and ASV brake lever. After the accident I decided to replace both the right and left side with Ducabike lever guards because I liked their look. Here is a link Bellissimoto's site for the gilles lever guards. These retail for $109.95 each. You need the right and left one. And they come with the adapter hardware. Gilles GT.Shield Lever Guards - Universal Fitment and Spare parts I still have the left one. If your left clip on is the same size as the 1299 clip on then it would fit. And you could just buy the right one new. My left one looks brake new.

As for the Ducabike lever guards. I really like them. They are the only ones that the arms are both metal and plastic. The end of the lever guards on the Ducabike ones are different. Instead of the arm being one piece and fixed. Part of it is a really hard plastic. The side of the impact area is metal and the ends are foldable. The metal parts also come in 6 different colors. The fit, finish and build quality of these lever guards are spot on. Judging by how they look and feel I believe they will do their job in the event of an accident. But whats really cool about them is that if you do get into an accident you dont have to replace the whole unit if the metal area takes the hit. You can just buy the metal part. Or if you get tired of the color you have you can just replace that color with a different one. These retail for $174.95 each. And come with the adapter hardware. Ducabike Performance Technology Billet Brake Lever Guard

I use both the brake and clutch lever guards because like you I lane split. And the highways and expressways in New York City and Long Island have all these different widths. Ive been known to hit a left or right mirror on a car occasionally LOL. Having lever guards on both sides always protected my hands. I also sent you a PM

Here are pics of my bike with the CNC Racing, Gilles Tooling and now the Ducabike lever guards. There have been lots of upgrades on my bike in between the CNC Racing lever guards to the Ducabike lever guards. New paint job and plastics after my accident. New Ohlins front and rear suspension installed May 2020. IMA specialized adjustable triple trees installed June 2020. Vandemon exhaust installed January 2020. CNC rear sets replaced with upgraded CNC rear sets and the list goes on. But this will give you an idea of how each looked and looks on my bike. The close up pic of the Ducabike doesnt have the new plastics with new paint job on the bike yet.
