I think he was dealt a bad hand with Suzuki but stuck it out with them (in MotoGP), it was a nightmare of a bike riddled with electronic/mechanical problems which resulted in lots of injuries for Hopper not being competitive and eventually dropping down to a "lower" championship from what I've seen/read.
Looks like Suzuki is doing well now with AESP and VIN in MotoGP. Not bad for a maiden return.
I'm interested to see how well he does, he's been running a Suzuki for his whole career I think? (MotoGP, BSB, anywhere else?) Ducati is a pretty competitive bike, but if you look at the riding styles its quite different, look at some WSBK Stuperstock 1000 videos of Niccolò Canepa
