I know the reservoir cops a lot of shaking around and vibes but is this a common thing? Had no tools and was in the middle of nowhere so had to use a mates leatherman to bend the broken ends out of the way of damaging anything and zip tie it up.

First I've heard this happening. Looks like something hit it or was resting on it. Does the brake line to the reservoir have an indentation on it?

No marks on the line. What you can see was probably a bit of water from wet hands (was raining). Bracket positioning etc was as it should be. Strange one!

The bracket shows the stress marks from excessive bending, so it was likely bent over and bent back which cracked the aluminum and caused the stress points that failed under normal vibrations.

Those marks are from where I had to bend the sharp edges out of the way before it was zip tied up. Fist pic shows break as it happened.

Still waiting on my replacement bracket to arrive from Italy but my friends SP2 suffered the exact same problem last weekend lol. There must be some issue here on the 22+ bikes.

My also broke today 2022 panigale V4s driving on bumpy road

I notice mine really vibrates a lot too. Maybe I’ll add some dynamatt to it to damper the vibrations, by adding mass.

Hi, guys. I'd like to add in that I had the same problem. A clean snap-off with the reservoir dangling by the tubing, caught in between the dashboard and will hampen turning of handle bar to the left. Not once, but twice. The first time it happened, had it replaced under warranty.

I suspect it's the beyond-normal vibration. I'm trying to get the suspension and shock absorbers checked to identify the root cause.

The second occurrence happened just last evening on a road with black patches (uneven), it's not as high as speed bumps, but it does give you that resistance. The reservoir was noticably vibrating and it snapped clean off again.

Word from my dealer here in Singapore is that I'm the only one who have experienced this and even the track guys don't. Much more a second occurrence. It's rare it seems but i'm trying to build awareness that it happens.

Won't be anything to do with suspension. Most likely to be a material or manufacturing process issue with the bracket. If it happens again I think the best bet will be fabricating your own. Given it's your second one, I think I'll just do it anyway.

Another friend also had this same issue on his SP2. Common story now.

You can also just get the bracket used with the RCS masters which mounts to the top bolt of the clamp for the master.

Eh. Your link results in an error, but I have one of this brackets. You need a vice and the patience of Jobe to install it. The RCS bracket is installed as it arrives.

Fixed.

I didn't use a vice... just a pair of pliers.

It literally took 5 minutes to install, with the added benefit of more freedom to position the reservoirs.

I’ve seen the aluminum reservoir mounts break on many bikes. The problem isn’t the aluminum mount, it’s goon hands adjusting the position. Could be dealer “tech” or rider fists. When adjusting(bending) the mount to get the reservoir in the “best” position, many people just grab and bend. It bends at the weakest point at the lightening holes and you create a stress point where the aluminum surface is fractured. That’s where it breaks every time.

The fix is a new mount and smart(er) “adjusting” by making all tweaks at the base or in the lower solid section of the mount.

The only defect is in the people who touch it. 🤓
