Broken front brake reservoir bracket. Common?

I’ve seen the aluminum reservoir mounts break on many bikes. The problem isn’t the aluminum mount, it’s goon hands adjusting the position. Could be dealer “tech” or rider fists. When adjusting(bending) the mount to get the reservoir in the “best” position, many people just grab and bend. It bends at the weakest point at the lightening holes and you create a stress point where the aluminum surface is fractured. That’s where it breaks every time.

The fix is a new mount and smart(er) “adjusting” by making all tweaks at the base or in the lower solid section of the mount.

The only defect is in the people who touch it. 🤓

100% agree but not in this case it doesn't appear so unless there was a fitment issue on all 22+ bikes from the factory that the dealers have had to goon adjust. Aluminum isn't all equal unfortunately and quite possible something as simple as a supplier change could be the culprit.

A single adjustment isn't going to weaken the material to the point that it would catastrophically fail. Anecdotally, it seems to be a problem with newer bikes which makes me think its a batch QC issue. Cause Italy.

My warranty replacement broke today lol. Will take the RCS one off my track bike and order another.

I noticed this! Now I'll have a spare brembo reservoir bracket for my track bike lol

I know the reservoir cops a lot of shaking around and vibes but is this a common thing? Had no tools and was in the middle of nowhere so had to use a mates leatherman to bend the broken ends out of the way of damaging anything and zip tie it up.

I just got my 21's bracket replaced. There is currently a warranty issued by ducati for this (as of the 04/07/2024). The new bracket is 2mm thicker and the central slot no longer present

My ‘21 is still good, so I’m not fast enough to hit the resonant frequency, or I’m just not as wonky a rider, or maybe I just don’t ride it enough????
