David at redline who does the rexxer maps said that ducati is in fact going to transition from termi to akra. I spoke with him yesterday about an up map I need and he made mention of this as I was asking about akra exhaust.
 
Had heard about this last fall. The exhaust on the superleggera I *think* is an akra.
 
Reason for that is the Audi group and Lamborghini use akrapovic exhaust systems on their cars, so VW group is working closely on getting akrapovic to do Ducatis too instead of termignoni.

Termignoni is an entirely separate company. . . They make exhausts for bmw, etc, etc bikes. They just happen to sell their exhausts via the oem network for Ducati. ..

This was pretty much a given when audi bought Ducati. Audi has a tight working relationship with Akrapovic. . Its just a matter whehter Akra can keep up with the demand for their product. Part of the reason they couldn't deliver the 1199 exhausts earlier was because the factory fell behind for 'more important' audi exhaust manufacturing.

Technically not entirely correct. If you want to get technical - its Ducati -> Lamborghini -> Audi -> VW. VW does not own 100% of Audi - its close (like up to 99% or something, but they don't own all of Audi, so technically those two are two separate groups. . Audi then owns Lamorghinis Sp.A and Lamborghini owns Ducati Sp.A.

But the primary reason for this is tax and a few other legalities. . It was easier for them to have one italian entity to buy the unit and they needed some gas credits to offset against Lamborghini's poor EU mileage requirements. ..

It depends on price and performance. I haven't bought either because I can't justify the price. Right now, I can be faster just doing track days. I do wnat a deeper sounding exhaust though.

I have to say the same, sort of happy with the sound and the power of the base , I don't race. In time I will change suspension, exhaust but as and when I have cash. Akrapovic is stupid money but then so is Termi!

I plan on racing next year. My suspension is done and I'm just getting lots of seat time. Hoping to beat Evol on the track since he switched up and is riding the BMW now, lol.

The biggest issue i have with Termi is that for the price the quality should be a lot better and I think in recent years they have gotten lazy as people with Ducati's have been brand loyal to Termi due to their association with them and racing.

This might just be the impetus they need to improve the quality and materials used in their product if not i think they will struggle.

Leon, why don't send your OEM cans to Phl and have him do his mod? From the videos, I'm pretty sure it's louder and deeper than my Termi slips. Cheap too. While they're off, you could get them ceramic coated and it would look great as well as sound great.

Because it looks like tracks are getting serious about extremely loud exhaust, especially at our home track Jennings. Phil knoes I was going to go that route, but I've been to Jennings twice now and they will black flag you if you go over 104.

This how ducati is ....... the small dealer
First they need to have a showroom just for ducati, they want the dealer to update their ducati sign ( that is like $60,000), they want you to stock all the accessories and clothing every year you will buy by December and you will get during the winter month you will not pay for it until May but by June the ducati online store will be having a sale so if you buy a jacket with 30% profit and you need to pay interest and 6 months later the online store discount the jacket 10% you are only making like 10% after you paid the interest but remember that the customer will ask you for a discount so you make ....!!!( that only is you were able to sale all your merchandise before the end of the years).

Now the motorcycle you will order the bike by September and will get it by December they will give you 90 day free interest and after that you will pay floor fee that is like $55 every month ok, the problem is that they want you to stock all the ducati model in every color otherwise they will not give you a good price
,so the rich man with his corporate store don't give .... about loosing money because he is already rich so he go and buy every ....... color he get the bike for a better price and he will sale the buy cheaper than mama and papa dealer because he don't care the only reason he got a ducati dealer is to show up!! He don't care about the customer.

Very soon will see all the mama and papa dealer switching to mv agusta and aprillia the reason why is because mv and aprillia don't sale their .... online if you want something you need to go to the dealer also with them you can order bike all years around so the dealer can blow out a bike for a good price and order a new one next day something you can't not do with ducati whatever you have on the floor that all you have until next years

I love ducati the brand but the panigale was my last bike from that company they are getting cheaper and cheaper just look at the new hyperstrada it have a ....... cable clutch ( not even the monster have a cable clutch) the motor is some random engine that I believe is not even ducati lol, their are going to be build outside italia WTF??? I want the ducati from italia the one that make me feel special.
