Not being from the states I dont understand the whole “service discounts thing” can someone school me on it, there is no draft right, its all voluntary?

It is a little complicated but I’ll try and explain it. The USA requires males to register for the draft when they turn 18. IF (and I emphasize the word IF) the USA requires it, we must join the military or go to jail. An example of this happening occurred during the Vietnam war.

With that being said, our military is voluntary and those who are in it now all volunteered. Our culture (for lack of a better word) is to TRY to treat our military with a great deal of respect because, but for them volunteering, anyone else could be required to join.

copy,

We used to have the draft here, in some respects if everyone had to enter the service at 18 for a year it would be a good thing for society.

Agree on both Motomillion is a no go for me...about 2 years ago I purchased a part online from them, which was apparently on back order, but was not disclosed on their site. Waited about 3 weeks, still not received, so tried to communicate via email on status, with no response, then finally caught him on phone after a few tries, for him to explain delay. I requested refund and finally received credit back on my card. Customer Service is not high on their list priorities. As for the Campisi guy, he just wants to be a YouTube star, he really has no mechanical talent, nor riding ability, just pays a Ducati shop to do bolt ons and try to shed weight on already legitimate sport bikes. He pretty much does the same .... on every bike. He does not "Build" anything except for maybe his ego.

Many good explanations as to the military discount and service by men and women. The enlistment also pertains to where a service person is placed. You could be placed in Europe to serve. While there you may/may not see any action, AND others are stationed in areas where they are legitimately fighting for our’s and other’s freedom. My colleague is one who was stationed in a war-torn area and actually fought in combat. I was appalled to hear how Mannie and Motomillions treated him. Such an ingrate.

I guess that’s what you get when your name is Jared CamCHEESEY.

I think I'm in the minority, but I like the build. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to improve the bike but the changes he made. I'm no one for extensive modifications, I would rather choose a bike/car that already starts with better performance. It seems he elevated a manufacturers product to something that some of us wish was how it came from the factory. I'm excited to make some similar mods to my V2 just to make it my own.

Frankly its not a "build" its a very basic unbolt that part, replace with bling part. There's no machining, no original thought process, no design, not even a single safety wired bolt, no fabrication, no manufacturer design shortcomings to overcome. In fact there's nothing that another person with the most basic spanner and a screwdriver skill couldn't do over a few beers on the weekend. I guess that's the whole point, he's clipping the ticket for being an "influencer" for those part suppliers.

I agree 100% it is not a "build". I've known many talented builders/fabricators who's custom work is something to behold. I'm not looking to change my bike, just customise it to my own liking. I personally do not have any ability to anything other than purchase and add on to an existing platform. I do like his finished V2 and wish I could afford all the same add ons. Youtube vids like his help people like me with instruction guidance and the confidence to work on my bike. I feel good about being able to some basic mods myself. cheers

Absolutely, if his vid can give a bit of inspiration and guidance then job done. Experienced builders (of which there are very few btw) dont spend a lot of time on the tubes looking a Campesi

Exactly - it's entertainment it's not an industrial design process unveiled. I know quite a few people who can't even imagine riding a bike like a Ducati. It's beyond their physical capacity, yet there there are in the MotoGP grandstands, and in Campesi's audience. There's nothing wrong with dreaming vicariously.
I mean, I'd rather watch Guy Martin ramble incomprehensibly about the TT - I thing I can't even imagine trying. But if you can make a living making cheesy videos on your favorite subject, I don't know, maybe you win, more power to you.

In Australia we call knocking someone successful the tall poppy symptom. More power to him doing something he loves and make a living out of it. The power is in the consumer, if you don't like don't watch. As for Manni at Motomillion, I ordered a heap of carbon and Rizoma products during the height of the pandemic and I found his service really good. I even had some parts delivered incorrectly and he replaced and didn't even want to to return the wrong parts

If anyone ever figures out how to tune a V4 you guys hitting the like button will contacting Pierobon so fast make my head spin around : )

I've stopped watching the build videos unless nothing is on, same commentary over and over.
Daddo doing all the work and a show pony with his vehicles and house.
