Canadian base model deliveries

My dealer is telling me that it could arrive any day but I still dont have a VIN or a firm date. Has anyone gotten a firm date in Canada yet? I hear they all port in Nova Scotia and make their way to Toronto for inspection so I'm assuming that the Toronto dealerships will have theirs available first.

Ahhh your right I forgot about the strike...

Looks like CP rail is being forced back to work this Thursday so with any luck we may have our bikes for early next week.

i told to my dealer if the bike is not arriver de first of june i cancel my order and took
the aprilia rsv4 factory , i command my duc in oct 2011 , if the bike have a problem it will take 6 mont to receive the part

There's the thing; they get to Toronto by train, and CP is on strike!

Is that fact? I thought they were trucked the whole way. Oh well - more waiting.

*If they are moved via CP, I hope there's an outside chance that they were already in Toronto prior to last Wednesday's strike, and that it's simply a longer process for passing inspection. :)

^ Haha...I hope I'm right as well, but that would be a first!

I have another bike to ride in the meantime, but I wouldn't mind having the 1199 before heading down to Laguna Seca for CSS at the beginning of July.

*Edit: Just did a bit of Google-ing; doesn't look like CP even connects with Halifax - someone correct me if I'm wrong - so, it looks like we might be ok. Fingers crossed!

Just got news from my dealer; worst fears are confirmed, CP strike is indeed hurting delivery schedule.

^ Doh! The wait continues...lol

Also, even though CP is being ordered back to work by the end of the week, I'm sure there's a logjam of containers that need to be moved.

fireman1251 - you're probably correct about your original assumption of well into June.

Sorry for the brief message at 17h30, had to run.

Dealer called at 16h00 and said that all deliveries were delayed because of the strike and that the big wigs at Ducati were in an emergency meeting to find alternative methods.

And it's not only Ducati, Yamaha for instance are sending trucks to Vancouver to pick up their stuff.

If Uncle Stevie gets the legislation through on Thursday they will start working on Monday at the earliest.

I'm guessing at least 2 weeks delay

My 1199s arrived this week and I'm picking it up Saturday :). Don't know if any base models came in. Hope you guys get yours sooner than later

Yuppers! Mine informed me of the same thing. Gonna spend some quality time with the other bike for the next couple of weeks, trying to forget about the 1199..haha.

I honestly don't know how deliveries are working out at this point. My dealer also got an "S" model the other week. Not sure why they don't arrive all together.

My dealer received a Tri Colore from the States back on April 27th. Its possible they are sending some up from the States at differing times.

I would really like to know if the Canadian base models have at least landed yet. My dealer said something to me today that makes me wonder if they have even left Italy yet. He said the earth quake might further delay the bikes.

Im really hoping thats not the case. Has anyone gotten confirmation that they have in fact landed in Canada? or left Italy?
