Canadian base model deliveries

I asked my dealer to confirm why/how the factory closure would affect delivery of units that SHOULD have already been en route. I'll come back with their reply.

I was thinking about waiting for a 2013, but then I worry about dealing with the same ordeal all over again..haha.
 
^ That's awesome news! Whereabouts in Canada are you?

Would you mind asking your dealer what the actual situation is with regards to delivery, and how they managed to obtain your unit when the rest of the dealers are producing all sorts of explanations as to why the units will be delayed even further?

Im first in line for a base model at my dealership in London Ontario. I would expect Montreal and Toronto to receive their units before I get mine.

Im hoping Turbo Dan is in Montreal. That would be good news for all of us.
 
Not sure where Turbodan is from, but there's a member on .ORG from Waterloo who also received their base.

Maybe DNA is trucking a few units up from the States? I for one would like to know what's going on.
 
Very strange,

Apex cycles in Waterloo is only an hour from me in London. Im going to be making some phone calls today.

1199 where is the dealer located that you put your deposit down with?
 
I'm out west, in Alberta. That said, I got into work today and had an email from my dealer. It was from late afternoon yesterday, and it said that my dealer's Ducati rep informed him that my unit will arrive next week.

Sooo....looks like things are finally shaping up for us!

Thanks I think your crossed fingers just worked.

I got a call from my dealer saying my bike arrived today!!!

Its Pissing down rain though.... probly won't be able to get it untill tomorrow anyway.
 
^ My dealer is closed on Mondays. I'll reply to the thread once I get the actual confirmation that the unit has arrived, but as mentioned above, the rep for my dealer said that it would be this week. *Fingers crossed
 
Ok, here' the deal:

Base models that were on the shipment of may 14th have all been delivered.

Ours will come in on new shipment on june 11th. Expect 2 weeks after that before delivery to your dealer.

Just cancelled mine. Done waiting
 
I cancelled mine as well. I'm not paying full price for a 2012 model that's about to depreciate even further. No skin off my back either as the weather has been total .... (still raining) and there's only 3 months left of the season. I'd rather wait for a 2013 model!

What!? I don't know you personally, just what I read on here, but I didn't see that coming. I don't have that riding season problem where I'm at luckily. Don't stop posting, or this forum might get too boring.

The timing just doesn't make sense. It's a lot of money to me, and I want to make sure I'm spending it wisely.
 
Well, you'll probably the f1 KERS system next year on your bike for the same price I'm paying this year for a bike without it.

(Yes I know, that was an April's Fools joke)
 
I from Montréal (Québec) and I receive my base panigale no abs today. My dealer receive two of them!
 
Time for some back-pedaling:

During my lunch break I called a few other dealers to know what happened to their base models only to learn that they all took delivery of all the early ordered bikes late last week or early this one.

Got a bit angry, called my dealer and told him to write up a check for my deposit (which is 11,5k from my old Hyper). 17h40 the sales rep calls back to say they located my bike at the distributors' in Toronto and it will be shipped out first thing monday morning.

Funny what a little saber-rattling will do....should have done that earlier!
