I had my ducati stolen a few years ago.
the thieves threw it in a van- gone in 60 seconds.

The worst part was the insurance company didn't want to pay me because they thought I had something to do with the theft.
They eventually paid me , and the guy who stole the bike was caught and went to jail.
It was not a pleasant experience .

I feel ya i had similar problem.

The insurance company was quick to take my money but when my jet ski got stolen they didn't want to pay me a dime (they went out of their way to make me look like a liar and a crim).

At the time i was living in South Perth Apartments and had to park my Jet Ski inside a security gate. The thieves smashed the gate open and took off with my jet ski.

I called up Insurance Commission and i got paid out the day after :) Insurance Commission is a powerful government body.

Stay away from Club Marine if you are in Australia they are a very dodgy insurance company.

those both happened in the uk; we'll have a little bit different experience here in the usa. ;)

yes here in sunny florida the gunshine state less worry about over enthusiastic thieves . this may happen in lib town aka ny nj il and ca but less likely in texas utah fl as we are allowed to defend ourselves enjoy.

You guys can carry guns lucky you'll get to put some bullets in their head but in UK and Australia we live in a police nanny state lol the crims and the crooked politicians run the country.

My woman sat on it - it's too tall for her she had to tip toe (the seat was too wide and too high even though she's 5'8").

We need a bike we both could ride and she only likes the Pani (she wants to keep the S and trade the base) !!! The Pani has thin seat making it really easy for her to flat foot whereas the r1 she was tip toeing !!!

Tried the RSV4 she thinks it looks old like the CBR1000RR :) (correct me if I'm wrong but they are both 2009 shape?).

Alpha.

You are always being extremely critical of the police. Yet you are the one who takes the gamble and exceeds the speed limit on your bike. When you get caught and get a ticket, it is somehow someone else's fault. I speed on my bike too sometimes but if I get caught, its my fault I know the rules of the game.

Last night and this morning the Victorian State Police along with the Australian Secret Intelligence Organisation, (ASIO) and the Federal Police arrested 7 terrorists who were going to use explosives at several venues on Christmas Day in Victoria. This included church services. It would have been the most serious attack in Australia up to this point.

Police in New South Wales stopped a similar incident last year where two terrorists were on their way out the door to cut off someones head. They have just been given lengthy gaol sentences last month for that plan.

Police and the security agencies in Australia have been working long hours since 2005 doing that work. The first large scale operation happened at the end of 2005 in both NSW and VIC which arrested 9 terrorists.

In my opinion the police are doing a great job in this country. While you are having a great time getting on the piss drinking beer and eating on Christmas day there will be Police, Firefighters, Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors, Soldiers, Sailors and the Airforce will all be on duty here and overseas protecting you and our way of life.

I am no fan of a lot of politicians but if you think you can do a better job then why don't you put your hand up and have a go.

I got my Erion Racing Honda 929 stolen out of the Apartment parking garage (2 disc locks, chained to concrete and my car parked in front of it on a Sunday afternoon) in Miami/Beach, together with 2 Ducatis and one more Honda. Obviously organized crime and cops were not even interested when called... There were tire tracks and foot prints, however it was chalked up to "well, you made a report and if we find it, we will let you know". Needless to say, never saw the bike again....:mad::mad: Still upset!

Buy R1...

LOl............Too funny. Years ago someone stole my FZ 600 (showing my age) and I ran after them, they actually put the kickstand down and ran. They took it because steering lock was broken.

I feel that if I don't have a garage I wont own a motorcycle, don't get me wrong I know some places owning a house or even renting one is almost impossible. but I would never have enough peace in mind to go to sleep a night. couple years back a thief give me the pleasure of come to my garage trying to take my honda s2000 :D, I hear noise coming from the garage around 3 am,I get up when to check and I can believe (yes, yes thank you god!!!)I when and get my wife with her H&K p2000 duty weapon my Remington 870 with slug shot and my sig 229 DHS, I when outside lock the side garage door and the main garage door ( he was too busy trying to hot wire the car). then I rack the 870 in his forehead (his face was priceless ) he keep saying I'M SORRY!!!, we handcuffed to the wheel on the s2000 not too comfy position call the cop, cop arrived like 10 min later drink some coffee that I make and pickup this trash of human.

Heyyyyyy!! How you been that was me!

Is a GPS Tracker and ALARM SYSTEM worth while for bikes? I mean if your bike gets molested by a bike thief would you even want her back (if you have insurance that is)?

most of the time the thief don't want the bike just some part of it, the guy the was trying to take my s2000 just want the radio door from my car and the center console according to the cop.the key were in the car after that night the key of my bike and my truck stay in my bedroom all the time.

The worse thing is when you have to take a leak after a long ride, sometimes after a good shake you'd come back to your bike to find some punk sitting on your bike and you just want to stab him in the neck there and then but you cant because it will mean instant jail time :(

not bad for $895 but you need to bolted to the floor so if you rent I don't think your landlord would let you, I can see the thief putting a dolly in the bottom and wheeling you bike and the $895 bunker together.
