Passing this on for another member here too. I am sure he will add to it later. Toady he was told by his own Ducati dealer that the best fitment for the 1199 only come from DP carbon parts OR Shift Tech Carbon Fiber! :D

Goes to show the true quality of this stuff!

For my satin carbon, I just give it my paint guy to blow over with high gloss lacquer, comes out perfectly.

so here is the story. i ordered from what i thought was a good carbon company who said they have no problem with their products. i also know that a fellow member liked their products as well.
Turns out they dont have any problems with their products except for the air ducts. Most of the air ducts out right now are copies from china and are made from matching or copying the oem product but the tabs that connect to the fairing are not the same. This is because the plastic is bendable and the carbon is not so you cant manipulate the product by bending it to fit.
So the connecting parts are smaller. I can tell you from experience the air ducts are a total BITCH to fit and with the small tabs the fit is off. the problem is right now there is only 1 company that my dealer in nyc told me specifically fits right and that is Shift Tech.
That being said i am no saying nor did the dealer say that CDT didnt fit nor carbonvioni. CDT air ducts arent out yet (even though websites show them you cant get them yet) and my dealer never did a carbonvioni one. I can tell you for a fact as of now unless you go with a big name brand company you WILL have fitment problems.
If you go with a cheaper or chinese product go for the bigger products that dont have edges or are not in a hard to fit area.
Hope this helps chose wisely

hope this helps.

Did ya type that from your cell Mark? lol

no i was trying not to ramble so people could understand what i was talking about without being on the phone with the service dept themselves. then i tried to space it so i wouldnt hear crap from the spacing police. guess i failed on both parts but. :D

Guido,

I'm interested in the air duct covers too. Can you post a pic on the bike?

Looks like they fit better than the plastic pieces that came with the bike!

is there a trick to installing these. i can tell you it is very difficult. the plastic ones are easy the carbon ones were very hard. You have to be carefull or you snap a piece off the fairing or the carbon part.

IDK. I wouldn't think this would be so hard but I can see that the CF piece won't bend so maybe Shifty will chimw in

Well, for some it's easy for others not so.
On the first set that I put on I had to sit back , take a deep breath and then slowly got on it and really pay attention on what I do.

By now it's easy.

Trick is to have everything line up, they intake covers connect to the key guard, side fairing, front nose and inner nose panel. So you have to really pay attention on what you are doing to get everything lined up at the same time and all taps to hook in correct.

It's something you want to take you time with, do it once and do it right.
