carbon electronics trays on 1299 - anyone install any yet?

I think that made a huge difference actually. Just the line of carbon between the tank and side fairing make it worth it.

one side down, one to go. I am happy that the matte finish is the same slightly glossy matte that's on my Ducati Performance carbon parts, so it's a match.

These were half the price of some I've seen for sale. While the carbon quality itself is good, they don't weigh much less - 2oz per side. Also, one will need a set of files and sandpaper handy to adjust some fitment - in particular, one tab for a fairing screw needed to be about 2.8mm thick, but was 3.7mm, so the speed nut wouldn't slide over. It was also too long, so more filing was needed. Fortunately, with the right abrasives, carbon fiber shapes very quickly.

Keeping track of the electronic components proved to be easier than it looks.

Now onwards to the other side....

I know how you feel. I hated that I could do the small triangle piece in carbon fiber on the left side. But, couldn't do the same on the right because it's a part of that tray. So, I ended up replacing the trays. :) Once I took the fairing out, looking at the electronics got me wonder what the heck did I got myself into :). But, it was a lot easier than it looked. One step leads to another and this carbonization is addictive :))
Now my bike just sit naked due to some parts on order. Waited 1.5month and now I was told I got to wait another month for it. Good thing the bike sit in my living room and I can see it everyday. So I'm not missing it much.

I consider myself lucky that I don't like the look of carbon fiber. Saves me a ton.

Yeah its light and yeah its strong...kinda like bamboo. I don't like stuff made from bamboo either.

Pictures don't do those covers/panels justice. I just saw a 2013 R with them on and they looked really good!
