:(I really don't like the heat shield that came stock on my 2013 1199R.

Living in eastern Canada the temperature never gets warm enough to cause a heat issue.

Would anyone have a link to a pre updated heat shield? In carbon fiber.

did you install the Termignoni pipes that came along in the box/crate ? - there is a carbon heat shield in that kit that is certainly nicer than the stock one

I had my stock pipes ceramic coated (inside and out) to reduce heat before installing an aftermarket CF heat shield.
The key is to use effective, durable, and thick heat washers between the pipe and shield.
Next I had allen-head fasteners pre-drilled for safety wire. The stock ones vibrate out, then the shield touches the pipe and cooks. I know.
Unfortunately, my insulators pack down so that I have to retighten the fasteners (and resafety wire) frequently.
The result is a cleaner look w/CF style and lightness. The heat is bearable in leathers.

I might be interested in buying your post update heat shield if you want to sell it, Im in Qc city...

the carbon one pre update is a copy of the standard heat shield pre update in carbon. that one won't last. the pre updated carbon one he is talking about is the termi one i believe. the pre updated termi one hooks into the subframe and not on the pipe. the one that hooks into the pipe will burn eventually

I'm confused. Neither of those carbon heat shields resembles the current heat shield on the R. I know they made diff. shields in '12 and '13, but now it looks like there are 3 or 4 variants floating around. Any ideas? Are there Termi-only and non-termi shields as well? Looks like at least diff S and R variants, but they may use that naming convention when they mean Termi or non-.
