Cell Phone Charging cable

Was looking for a good setup on my Duc for my iPhone Charger, heres what I did. I would love to mount this in the Seat Cowl but OMG there no room!!!! ARGH!!!!

Bought this off Amazon, the appeal is it has a Flat surface for easy mounting (Dbl sided tape) and has a on/off switch.



I made this cable (Female/male - Female/male), i'm sure you can buy these


I already had a tender on my battery and wanted a quick disconnect so i can either charge my phone or the battery.. so i just connected it here.


Ran the wires up and through the bike, Pick the option to mount it Vertical or horizontal so you can get to the on/off switch on the adapter... Plug in your USB cord, your good to go.

not sure if my adapter is 100% reliable since i have on occasion found it to be not working and had to toggle with that switch to get it going. if i had to do it over again, i would buy an adapter w/o a switch, not sure why you would need a switch since you are better off mounting this so you can pull the adapter to disconnect it. i also have the one with the red led light and while that is helpful, it's not entirely necessary but overall i found the switch more reliable.

also it may be heat related when the adapter is mounted to the short cable battery tender right next to the lower part of the engine and i had a usb charging cable connect to camera stop working during the ride. toggle the switch and it came back on, frustrating.

so i stopped using the adapter because it is unreliable during extended riding. i keep it stored under the seat and will pull it out if i need it during an extended stop. the best way to keep my mobile charged while riding is using a short cable plugged into a portable battery in my pocket.
