As per my member pictures, I had my entire full Termi system jet hot coated (inner and outer) and polished.

Some feedback to those who are considering following me down this path.

I got the exhaust ceramic coated and polished due to (1) Heat and (2) I personally do not like a patchy exhaust.

Post ceramic coating and polishing it looks lovely.

The ceramic coating makes a difference and I have noted lower temperatures, combined with the up and coming Ducati heat shield fixes it may possibly resolve a fair bit of the overall heat issues (fingers crossed).

Ceramic coating the end cans makes the exhaust louder (even with silencers). I have no idea related to possible performance gains.

For a ceramic polished system, the sheer heat of the exhaust tends to cook the polish off after a 700+ miles. However, after applying non-abrasive aluminum cleaner (remember I have titanium that has been ceramic coated) the exhaust can be quickly and easily polished back up.

So, based on my experience to date I recommend ceramic coating.

Thank you for sharing your results. I just had my full termi coated, as well.

I did not get my exhaust cans done, but rather the pipes only, so this is valuable feedback.

I am months away from riding still, due to the winter, but that was one question, I had on how long the coating would last on the outside.

Thanks, again.

Good feedback Cali. Would be interesting to compare running temps :)

Will you please share with us what this costs?

Thanks,

It's not in my nature to post costs on this forum. In part in fairness to the two competitive vendors in the USA, Jet Hot and CC Ceramics (feel free to correct me) and I actually feel that it is a private matter (costs that is) and the last time I posted a cost I just got so many negative troll comments that I simply do not want to go there again.

I do not have any affiliation with any motorcycle or parts vendors and I do not receive nor would I except commission or discounts. This is a personal ethic and should not be confused with a judgement on those that do OK. I have zero problem with people hawking products on here (that are on the market ;-).

So not to be funny and to be fair, I would recommend that you contact either and/or Jet Hot coating or CC Ceramics, etc to get your own prices. Variables costs are shipping, labor costs of removing and re-installing the exhaust ,full system or just the headers, the type of coating (I have extreme 1300), colors, polishing, etc.

Now with that being said, due to the warranty recall on the heat shield a fair few people will have the costs of their exhaust being removed covered .. so read between the lines ;-) to get the best deal and a better deal than I got.

Trust this helps.
