Has anyone had their exhaust ceramic coated? Thinking of having termi's ceramic coated. I know the pro's are there any cons? I was quoted $190.

VHT makes a spray on ceramic coating that is the ...., it comes in silver, white , black, and some other colors. It is the real deal. I use it all the time on headers and exhaust systems, I also spray the inside of the headers, once it's cured you can polish it, or leave it dull. It holds up on a dirt sprint car, that gets direct high pressure wased after every race.

I had my main pipes coated in "chrome" last year. Was only able to do the long horizontal pipe, along with the rear cylinder's pieces that go down to where the flapper valve was. Don't think it helped with anything other than having a bike that looks somewhat different than anyone else's. By the way, I've never had any problems with the pipes I've had coated in years past...
Hope this helped..
Pat

I have had my done in Matt Black, it looks a treet and is a little cooler on the pipe. You can touch the pipes when hot with no problem.
The pipe is correct.
The pipes are coated in side and out.
Cheers

I had the full Termi done on my 848 to a satin black - looks great, and wears well.

Search function is your friend

While I'd love to agree Phil, the search function on this forum sucks more dick than Monica Slewinsky....

Seriously, the search function is awful!

OP:
I'm very interested in getting this done as well :)

Is that $190 with the pipes already removed??

Have mine ceramic coated on my 1199 full termi's and they do ride cooler, matte black.... U will like it..

ceramic coatings or header tape will make the exhaust work better as it increases the exhaust gases velocity. some scientific theory. not sure the exact reason. but ive been told this by numerous engine builders and fabricators. not to mention it looks good too

That's a good story hey;)
I wonder if in time, people will realise the power benefits of ceramic coated exhaust components are possibly a myth put out there by the people who are marketing the technology to the masses.

Engine builders and fabricator follow the trends of the day.
I was around in the days when a great set of heads were ported "and polished".
A good set of heads were only ported:D

Now days nobody seems to polish ports and valve pockets in heads anymore as it's not considered beneficial to developing maximum power.
A slightly rough finish is left on the surface;)

Fads and trends:(

Jet-Hot Coated Full Termi

I had my full termi's Jet-Hot coated prior to taking delivery of my Panigale in 2012.
