I 'shopped a black one cos I was going to do the same thing.

It's better, but only 'OK' in my view. (Hard to tell unless you actually looking at it in the metal, but I'll probably still go with it)

The red would have to be spot on and you run the risk of having too much colour variation (which I personally hate). ie, Red paint, different colour red on your leavers, different colour red pipes, different red on your helmet, different red pin striping on your wheels...

I had a friend that put gold all over his R1 SP and all the variation made it look poo.

i wanted to get it done but i can't find a place in canada that will do a red. only black, satin and chrome. any canadians know a place?

With respect mate, I don't reckon red will suit cos it won't be the same as the red on the fairing on the RHs + red pipes under the seat will look out of place?

I want to get it done but not for looks - I like the look of the standard pipes - but to reduce the heat so I can wear non Kevlar jeans when riding short trips.

I think I could handle Matt black except for the RH exposed pipe in the fairing. Austin Racing / other manufacturers - would it be possible to design a carbon cover for this pipe that attaches to the fairing on the RHS? This would look better than a black ceramic coated pipe

yeah i agree the rear pipe would look weird, that is why i wanted the back pipe black and that one on the right side red. but i would have to make sure the match was close. but would it fade ? i don't know

i hear that the heat is greatly reduced and the performance gains are good too as an added bonus. :D
