Chain Cleaner and Chain Lube

You can get decent chain cleaner at any Honda shop, and while you're at it the Pro Honda lube with Moly is a good, inexpensive lube as well. Spray on, wipe off the excess and you're good to go. I also use Dupont Chain Saver in the squeeze bottle, which is a nice travel option as it's small and packs easily. I hate dirty chains and sprockets!

Clean with WD40 dry it off, use a liberal amount of dry lube either pro fli or my favourite Wurth SaBesto dry lube, looks great, no fling. I have a gold chain so shoving a load of gunk on it ain't for me. I also once rode my 1198 to the dealer after they had had it in the week before and stuck some horrible normal lube on the chain. The wife followed me up in my car, it was Italian too if you know what I mean. I got in it and she drove me home, to find the lube off my jacket had gone all over the crema sports seats! I was raging. Got it sorted but needed professional cleaning for £200. Dry lube is the way forward.

I used WD40 and it shagged my chain.

Now I clean with kerosene/paraffin (depending on where you are in the world!), dry the chain off then use a PTFE based lube.

A past associate of mine used to use some thin oil blend on his race bikes. The stuff was designed for bicycles and had to be applied one link at a time but it left the chain looking brand new with zero residue and he only applied it every 2000 miles. It was very expensive but worth it. I'll have to dig up a link to the stuff and post it here.
