clutch issues

My clutch had the issue of going soft occasionally when I first got the V4, but then they had a service bulletin or something that had them reroute the cable or something like that, so it wouldn't run so close to the engine. Haven't had any issues with it for the following 8000 miles.

I can see what the article is saying, but if that were the case, why does it need to be bled all the time. Wouldn't bleeding it once get all that moisture out. Somehow air is getting back into the system. I know a lot of guys on here have had good luck with upgrading to aftermarket slave cylinders.

anyone has info about this rerouting?

i am dure this Can help or solve the problem

mine has got the lines changed, the master pump Changed, and it still goes soft after 4 or 5 rides

it gets worst after long rides, because of the heat

Something with my clutch or throttle causes grinding on first takeoff, after that it doesnt happen again. Told the dealer but they couldn't recreate it so nothing was done

This isn't very well known, but I recall speaking with a tech who was sent to Italy before the V4 came out to take part in training, where they completely dissembled the bike down to the last bolt and put it back together.

He said because of the dry sump design (unlike other motorcycles), instead of bathing in oil, there's a jet that shoots oil onto the clutch. This jet can be adjusted to shoot more or less oil.

When my V4 was in the shop, I rode their demo V4S out to see what the Akra system sounded like and it shuttered exactly like you're talking about until it got warm, then wouldn't do it anymore. When I brought it back, I mentioned it to them and that tech went, "Oh okay, that means we have to adjust it to shoot more oil on the clutch because it isn't getting enough when cold and idling."

Might be worth taking a look at, because that chattering is basically your clutch being ran dry until the oil warms up and flows easier. The shop may not be able to recreate it because they're letting the bike warm up longer or something like that.

Thank you so much ill be sure to check that

I had the clutch hose mod and it is a smaller diameter hose. Pretty sure the routing is the same but they use a very high quality fluid and I have had no problems with actuation since. Touch wood!

I also had the clutch shudder on initial applications and yes they adjusted the oil flow to the clutch but it still does it occasionally.
