In the CMRA you must disable the ABS either in the ECU or physically disable it. Also, in SuperStock, you must run wheels that are available with the bike stock, as defined in the OEM parts diagrams. Dealer installed options are not allowed. What would be allowed, is say for example a 2025 Ducati V4 with Ducati carbon wheels ONLY IF the Ducati parts diagrams show the Ducati carbon wheels. Same with the forged wheels.

I have not yet purchased the bike, and these unfamiliar to me issues are major factors. I ride a 2020 R1 now as a street bike.

The 2025 leverages the electronics more than the previous bikes. To remove the ABS really removes a lot of what makes the platform good. I don't think even on the older V4 platforms you could simply remove the ABS. I vaguely remember @DeussenEngines mentioning it was tied into the EBC system.

I don't know if I'd call it a gimmick. They created an automatic rear thumb brake. Forum spergs have a knack for overstating everything to the point of being ridiculous, but every track review mentions how good it is.

For how much money you'd put into a 2025 V4 plus its already high base price, there are better options. If it's a sponsored race team and it's someone ese's money, that's another matter.

on two of mine V4Rs, its not technically removed but disconnected from braking lines without a single issue.

every track review

if you scroll through every track review for past 10 years (say from gen1 BMW coming out), you will hear the same story

reality is slightly different. sure 50% of trackday goers wouldnt even bother disconnecting ABS as its involved on Ducati (vs. Yamaha/Honda/BMW) but other 50% that participates in amateur races sure will. And you don't need to be a genie to figure out who is faster on track.

You’d be a rich (but soon to be poor) idiot to race a Ducati unless you’re sponsored by Ducati. Shoot, you’d have to be an idiot and sadomasochist to track a Ducati

What other bike automatically applies the rear brake when turning? We aren’t talking about reviews per se, but rather that specific feature.

I hear you. 3-4 years ago cornering ABS was a new know-how, guess whats happened to it when people went on track.

in all fairness, V4s ABS is un-noticeable anyway. I imagine the type of people that would want to delete it, already know how to apply rear break. And I guess it will benefit the others.

As I’ve said to you before, this sort of comment is just poor man’s thinking. There are loads of Ducati’s being used on trackdays all over Europe and the owners are enjoying the experience, as right they may. And without being called idiots by the like of you

surely its a gimmick for yuppies ?
Not the easiest thing to learn and use well on pavement bikes. Better to learn on dirtbikes. Probably 99% of people who ride don't know how to use this deftly. Not everyone was stomping the rear brake and backing their bicycles in as kids. As far as I'm concerned the ABS seems to make the entire braking system mushier. I'd like to take it off my V4 but looks like a PIA to do.

Most of the serious racers here remove abs anyway. Less weight and shorter brake lines for better feel.
But Mine will be staying.

I use rear break on corner entry heaps and can’t wait to get my thumb brake on my V4. Used it a lot on the 1198.
I prefer to be dong this myself than the computer deciding when.
Also in some cases it’s very handy mid corner
