I would like to ask for some assistance from those of you who have experience with the different seats from DP.
I have seen some people mention that they had the comfort seat and switched to the race seat. Is the reason comfort, height, grip or ?
Has anyone switched from the race seat to the comfort seat.
I am strictly street right now but hope to have the Tri out for a few track days this summer.

Thanks for the help, Brad

I haven't tried the comfort seat but the race seat is a big improvement over the stock seat. I like the looks of the race seat better than the comfort seat.

I got the comfort and love it. From my understanding both seats raise you up a little, provide better grip, and make your butt happy. So, either is a big improvement over stock.

I tried both and it's makes bugger all difference which you choose as long as you get off the POS stock seat. I couldn't visibly see any difference in the profile and probably couldn't pass a seat of the pants bind test so ended up choosing the comfort for the looks and sold the race to another happy customer.

I looked at both and couldn't tell much difference on the bike between the two. Comfort is maybe a few mm wider and taller but I couldn't tell riding which was which to be honest. Sure there are people here with more sensitive arses than me though!

I went for comfort in the end as I preferred the look.

So True!

Picked up the comfort seat the same day as my new Tri and never even tried out the stock board. Since then I have nothing but great things to say and feel about using this seat, until................

I received a super offer to obtain the Luimoto Italian flag seat WITH the gel pads installed. Sent them my stock one and they installed the gel pads into it, and mounted the cool looking skin over the whole thing. Not only does this look great but those gel pads inside provide a great deal of comfort too!
This also drops you down a little bit back to stock riding position, which I really did not feel much of a difference on to begin with on comfort seat. :D

I like my comfort seat but when Gunny starts his tour around the nation, I can't wait to try his seat!:)

I agree with everyone else here. The comfort seat (or Gunny's stated seat as I have seen it and it is Beautiful!) is the way to go. WHen I first got my bike I took a 500 mile trip with the stock seat. OUCH! never again. The comfort seat adds way better grip and of course comfort.

Funny thing, I had the comfort seat first, traded it for the race seat and am back on the stock seat. For some odd reason, the material in the comfort and race seats grab my sack an puts me in a bind. I like the freedom on the stock seat LOL!

here's my .02. i bought the comfort first and found it too tall and felt i wasn't "in" the bike any longer and put my weight too far forward and stressed my wrists. took it back and got the race seat.

the race seat is perfect for me and seems to be what they developed the bike with. taller then stock but nice and flat w/ plenty of grip.

couldn't be happier with it and personally couldn't have used the comfort seat if i wanted too.

just a different spin for ya. either seat you choose, the added grip of the cover is worth it alone over stock.

Exactly that nyandy said. Race seat all the way. I'm only 5'9" & the comfort seat put me up too high, but the race seat is WAY better for me.

I emailed Troy since he was involved in the development of the bike and this was his response:

"Greetings from OZ, mate. Crikey, when I first got her me donger kept hitting the tank which is no good on the way to the barbie when I am cranking on the brakes to avoid joeys and koalas. By the way mate, watch the brakes, they are bomber and I almost spilled my Fosters several times. Anyway, don't be a wally and get the comfort seat. The sheilas all dig it and it's bonzer on your crown jewels."

Hated stock, over nighted comfort, swaping to race. Comfort is to much grip and height.

i think you'll find the back of the race flatter and less canted. give the seat a bit to break in. the grip is bonkers out of the box, but will ease up a bit from friction shortly.

Same here, my dealer let me put both on the same bik in the showroom one day, we all gathered around as I went back and forth from one to the next.

couldnt tell TOO much difference in the showroom, not actual riding so i went with the comfort seat because I liked the look.

1500 miles later I still like it

Race seat is an amazing improvement over the worthless standard seat. Far less slippery, and better padding.

+1 - I Agree and did the same. The race is is flatter in back for the tuck position.

Stock seat is just too slippery, even using my legs as a vice I find it impossible to avoid sliding into the tank - I don't use my wrists to hold my body.

The race seat provides heaps of grip.
