This thread is basically just a follow-up to Mike's post regarding Carpimoto.
Apparently akrapovic is going to be raising prices in about a week, and Carpimoto may have raised their price significantly over the past two weeks because of that.
I was also told several of the businesses who have been selling this for the lower prices will most likely be jacking theirs up a little more as well.

I just ordered one for $3,327. Shipped to my door from a company called Motorcycle works.

Its not a killer savings over the other companies in stock in the USA, but I gave it a shot and just ordered one, every $200 more in my pocket helps.. After I get cash back on my credit card its under $3300.

I am 99.9999% certain this will fit my 2015 Panigale R, and if in fact it does I will be selling my OEM system (with SL cans) I take off my R. (Mike has first dibs, but if that deal doesn't go through I'll post in the classifieds once my bike is here.

Back to laying in bed crying about how its 65 degrees and sunny, today is the opening track weekend at NJMP with Absolute Cycle, I have a season pass but no bike.:mad::mad:

Please let us know how it goes. I am in the same boat as you, I have my 2015 1299S coming in two weeks and I just refuse to pay $5000 plus California tax, plus installation for a freaking exhaust system. We all have our own value proposition ratios and I am quite ok paying around $3500 for an exhaust, but not just short of $6,000. It's just a ridiculous amount of money.

I was ok paying $7k for an exhaust system for my Porsche GT2, because there was an awful lot of tubing, etc., and a couple of high flow 100 cell catalytic converters, but that's not the case here. I feel like I'm getting jacked by Akrapovic and so for the first time in years, I am considering going with a non Akrapovic exhaust... I had an Akrapovic full Ti system on my BMW S1000RR, but it was $2,600.

Cheers and thanks for the post.

I considered getting the new R and my dealer told me there would not be a problem transferring my akra over. Hope this helps

I parted out my HP4 and sold the full Ti akra for around $2,000 a few months ago. You can get a full Evolution titanium for $2,000 now for the S1K from motomummy.

I think it once again comes down to paying the "Ducati Tax."
Less piping for the Ducati one, yet its twice the price...

Completely understandable about the Porsche system being so pricey.

Ive got a damn closet full of goodies for a bike that has no ETA yet. I'm dyin over here.

I am doing the Absolute Thunderbolt weekend now. I didn't know you rode with Absolute.

Thanks for the follow up to the Caprimoto link I posted Dylan. This would explain their price going up. Keep us informed of the swapover so I can grab the R exhaust from ya :)

This is my second year. Definitely a little pissed I got rid of my 1199 and HP4 before the new bikes arrival.... Oh well, it'll just make the arrival that much sweeter! :D

Good looking out but do you have to call them for that price? Maybe I missed it because I didn't see anything for the Pani.

Akrapovic

Akrapovic

Email Tanya Crew: [email protected],

Tell her Dylan ordered one of these systems they had on ebay and she would honor an additional 10% discount off her ebay price. She has three or four more systems in stock at this price before it goes up! :D

I'll have mine end of next week, but no bike ETA yet :(

Just put in an order for Akra from Tanya as well. After missing out on the capriomoto Euro deal, I couldn't wait any longer.

Dealer wants like $1,000 to install everything I bought for my 2015.

Anybody with a basic 40 piece tool set can instal levers, rearsets, exhaust and a tail tidy and save a grand.

Never would I pay a shop to install an exhaust...

Installed the akra on my R last year and will enjoy spending a Saturday in the grave getting acquainted with the 2015. :)

Agree 100%

Does any one know if the akra heat shield will work with the new rage cycle eliminator?

Thinking about swapping out my full Termi system for a full Akra. Wasnt even on my mind a month ago and now - well thanks very much to each and everyone of you.

Just an update to this thread....
I received this exhaust exactly a week after I ordered it. Box and contents were all mint. They shipped to me the same day they received them in from Akra.

This exhaust fits the 2015's without any issue.

It perplexes me that people are ordering the Ducati Performance Akra when this is an option.

$3800 for slip ons by Ducati, or the full system here for $3327.....

please let us know when you have it installed, I am curious to see if it's an easy install, or there are any small issues.

Cheers and thanks for the update.

You have to bend the bracket out to clear the shield but it will work.

Old post.

I installed it on my 2013 R.
Very easy.

Take off side fairings, seat and tank bracket, then loosen lower subframe mount bolts and remove (so you can raise the subframe up a bit to access the vertical header a bit easier. Simply loosen all the mount bolts on the old system, pull the mufflers first, then use a 10mm ratchets to remove the forward header, a 10mm socket to remove the rear. Pipes all come apart easily then. Then it's as simple as pie putting the new one on. Be sure to use anti sieze and lube Akra provides where necessary (connections and O2 sensors). Pipes all for in easy and it's like 6 bolts to install. Very easy. Maybe a little tedious, but it's a great day doing it! I'm praying my R comes in the end of this week! I'd love to spend next Saturday stripping and working on my bike.

PLEASE BE SURE AFTER YOU INSTALL YOUR AKRA YOU SOAK A RAG IN WD40 and wipe off every nook and cranny on the titanium! Get off any grease or fingerprint oils that could stain your beautiful titanium! Then lightly wipe off excess. Run bike at idle for a few minutes to burn off the wd40 (smoking is 100% normal). Now enjoy your Akra. I swear coating the pipe every couple hundred miles help give me that deep blue look to my pipes.
