You can't rant more than me.
Indeed, that was too beautiful to be true! I was "lucky enough" to profit from a bug: both areas were giving the same results, instead of one working and the other one giving nothing for 2012.
Was happy to have it on my iPhone until I tried to read it. Since that, I am furious.
I am waiting for a test of the BMW. Which was first a joke, but I am considering it more and more as a serious option.

you better do some research - a recall has stopped all 1000rr sales for now. Something about improperly torqued conrod bolts...

I know about the recall, but I bet that even with that I would get it before my Panigale.
A colleague ordered his way after I ordered my Panigale, and guess what, he's getting his BMW this week.

Complete dealer engine strip down seems to be the order of the day for affected units

No thank you, would prefer to avoid that

Mate of mine had a Panigale on order and didn't have the patience , so couple of weeks ago bought 1000RR "while he waited". Day after the first service and restriction got removed, he blew the engine put a 3 inch hole in the side of it.

FOr some reason he was covered in coolant which amused me no end :p Even more ironic was that when the recovery van came to get him and his BMW it was it had a bunch of Ducati stickers on the back, as it's the same van the local Duc dealer uses to pick and drop bikes for service. :D We had a lot of fun taking the mickey, and looks like he'll be riding a Panigale long before he ever gets that RR back.

He was trying to insist they owe him a new bike but apparently the head office in Germany wasn't having any of that.

I feel for any motorcycle enthusiast that has spent his hard earned money on a top of the range bike, only for it to turn into a monster headache.

Not what he signed up for and absolutely no fun.

I bet they pulled the "thats what warranty is for" line, which always makes you feel absolutely no better.

From a friend who was a service manager at a BMW and Ducati dealership - BMW carries the belief that they should turn down as many warranty claims as is justifiable. Getting warranty work done on a Beemer is next to impossible.
Ducati is much better but will turn down warranty claims when they can also.

Personally, I've had very good service from Ducati warranty.
I think that Ducati North America does an exceptional job of taking care of customers.

I had a few issues wiht my multi when I first got it and all issues were warrantied and fixed promptly

Clutch replacement - Issues with clutch sticking
Tank replacement - stripped screw because of locktite
Various recalls addressed

A bit of frustration at first with the bike but in the end the bike runs great and the service was excellent. I have been working the same dealer for 10 years so that may make a difference.
