This is for the non racing folk. How many of you are going to or did put the original Dex-cool coolant back in your bike? Who has changed to a standard green or a HOAT coolant?

Non Racing / Tracking = ENGINE ICE all the way IMHO!

Used it in every single Ducati Ive owned without any issues and good results. Get ready for many other suggestions / opinions from the crew here too! :)

Figured I'd ask since the agip special permanent listed in the owners manual is not easily obtained but the agip data sheet spec # indicates it is the equivalent of gm dex cool and Ford specialty orange. I thought it might have been a HOAT like the Asian red and blues available.

Distilled water and 5% mocool can hold its ground well enough with traffic, almost similar to agip coolant. But I find that I keep loosing some coolant somehow, unlike when I use agip coolant.

Currently using the bike for race, so no gycol is allowed thus I am using the water+mocool at the moment.
Once this is done, I'd be putting the agip one back in.

For comparison against cheaper glycol coolant, in heavy traffic water+mocool can hold it at 102-103 C while agip coolant can hold it at 102 C max, and cheap glycol one did go up to 107 C at some point.

engine ice or liquid performance for me. for the ducati i would use liquid performance because the brain trust at ducati uses an opaque viewer (my ducati has engine ice in it didnt know this was a problem till after) on the overflow where you cant see the level because the engine ice is a light blue color. what i do is take a pipe cleaner stick it in till it gets wet then compare the viewer PIA

the liquid performance is an orange or red depending what you get even though they are the EXACT SAME FORMULA.

i am using both as we speak never a problem (different bikes) .

i have also posted a review at different speeds of the engine ice performance. use the trusted search feature im sure you can find it

I remember that thread you wrote about what the temps were at all those different speeds Mark. That was actually a good bit of info right there man, wasn't it on the ride home from my place where we changed the coolant to Engine Ice?
If correct I think it was really only a huge change the faster you went right?

All I know is that I've used it in every bike for years and it's made a difference to me. I can attest that Water Wetter didn't do squat for me in my 748R when I tried that once. Just my take on it that's all, not gospel of course.

Used Engine Ice eversince, no problems...been running just a tad cooler...
Darn Pani's are just really hot engines compared to other bikes...

I guess cos it only has one auxiliary Fan located below the lower radiator and none on the upper radiator due to space issues. Also they could have increased the radiator core to one more line I guess to make the radiator just a tad wider or thicker with more water volume?

Also, I suspect the Evotech radiator guards contribute a bit to some air blockage when running...Oh well never had over heating issues, just that these pani engines do run hotter than other makes....

yes the effects will be seen much more at higher speeds 85 and above consistantly. for stop and go traffic you're going to get hot no matter what you have in there but the ICE does make it happen it just takes longer. at mid range speeds not that big of a difference.
yes we did the change at your house what a PIA that was. thats when we met flobrandx also.
