Well ive had two motors blow, 1199 and 1299..stubornly i'm thinking it is not oil related, ive always ran 300v and changed 1500-2000 miles, or Before a track day!

this new to me 2020 V4s has the standard shell oil...and I'm learning as much as a full liter remains in the bike, trapped in heads, no matter how long it sits to drain.

my question, whats the effect of mixing shell and 300v?

I guess i could fill, run the bike to get nice and hot, drain and fill again with fresh 300v (expensive i know).

The shell oil just turns black so quickly, and I really like the green motul that looks clean as a whistle on every change.

Would love some opinions here yalls!

I actually let it sit overnight after an oil change. Fire it off to fill the filter/galleys and then let it sit overnight. The heads are actively scavenged and when the motor shuts down the heads drain thru the clearances (not much) in the scavenge stages. These do not like to be overfilled. The case wraps closely around the crank to limit windage losses so if it's overfilled it'll froth the oil.
