Coolant leaking

My 899 is leaking coolant on the left hand side I've noticed it first just after 1000km rang the bike shop they said its normal I persisted and they replace a seal went for one ride no leak but on the second ride it started to leak again. I've also notice that it doesn't do it all the time. Any ideas has any one have this problem.

Mechanical seal on your water pump

had the same leak. They replaced my water pump under warranty. no more leaks.

Just took my 1299 in for a coolant leak as well. It was coming from the weep hole on the left hand side. In my experience it will be the waterpump mechanical seal but I think they are going to change something else. Mine has 2300klm. Not all that impressed and will be even less impressed if the problem isn't rectified as I have to travel 2.5 hours to get to the dealer. Also had clutch hydraulic reservoir fluid leak onto the TFT screen.

MotoCorsa caught a similar leak on my bike, '13 1199R, at about 17,000 miles--fixing it required replacing the coolant pump as well as the seal. That took care of it. Covered under the extended warranty.

The early clue that something was up was a tendency to run warmer than in the past. I'd recommend if you notice that you have a close look.

Mechanical Seal Failure

My 1299s leaked oil and coolant from the weep hole at 400 miles on the odometer. Took her in and was replaced under warranty.
