Crashed the new R racebike

Sincere condolences my friend.

I am guessing "full noise" means wide open? They always told racers not to chop the throttle after crossing the finish line but I am truly sorry to hear of this news. I echo the others, so glad you are ok and that your state of mind is as admirable.

Wow, thats terrible.

On the plus side, Im sure some things are salvageable. You can recover a bit of money.

Its the bike really beyond repair?

Glad you are okay. I'm headed to the track tomorrow ... not like this with be in the back of my mind now or anything lol

Really sad to see this, but the key thing is that you're OK.

If after your sabbatical you decide you want to ride again and the bike isn't totalled, I have some bits that have come off my bike as I've upgraded: footpegs, heal guards, lower right faring, cockpit faring, levers, fluid reserviours, rear hugger, rear sproket, carrier, etc. etc. You're welcome to any of them if it helps. Maybe others have spare parts they could contribute?

Glad to hear you walked away. I like your attitude. You did what you love on a bike that was meant for racing. Hopefully this doesn't deter you from the track for very long.

I don't think I could approach it the same way as you if that happened to me. I'm a chicken-.... when it comes to racing even though I really want to do it but the possibility of crashing the bike turns my stomach because I can't afford to replace it.

Put full coverage on it, take it to a lonely road at night, make it look like a crash scene, shoot a deer in the head and lay it in the road... then make a police report... Problem solved! :D

Then DELETE THIS THREAD ;-)

I've never understand bringing a bike this costly to a track and not paying the extra premiums for per-race coverage...
In the end, you're alive which is #1 on the list.

Hope your back up and running by next season

No clue what that is. Some US insurance companies will cover the bike for track use as long as it is NOT a timed event. Once you are racing others in a league, against the clock, for money, etc, you are on your own.

Wilks, glad you are ok.

Nobody offers race insurance for your vehicle...they do for medical insurance.

As stated already a lot of insurance companies will cover track days however.

Thus far I have not found a single insurance company in Michigan that will cover track days. If anyone knows of one, please feel free to let me know! :(

Congrats on Superpole! So sorry to see your bike totaled. Happy to hear you walked away without a scratch.
