Crutchlow

I like this part.

it seems like it isn't so much that Ducati Corse has forgotten how to design a racing motorcycle as the company is suffering from some kind of ego problem: an unwillingness to believe that it's doing anything wrong, despite the might of evidence against them, and an unwillingness to listen to the wisdom of people who've achieved much more MotoGP success than they have.

Forgotten Stoner???

Seems to me like Cals 'ambition obviously outweighs his talent'..........

Cal had excellent promoters working for him, he was the darling of the British commentators , after winning the world super sport championship,he was rushed to wsbk
where he didn't win a championship, then to moto gp. He is very brave and is more than willing to stick his neck out, but I think he was brought along too quickly, wss to moto 2, then on to moto gp. It takes more than bravery and bike handleing skills at the top level, there is reflexive response, doing the right thing without thought, that is learned moving up through the ranks on GP bikes. Spies and Crutchlow both came from WSBK and crashed ALOT, trying to get up to speed on a GP bike.

Hmm... I think there is more to the story than Cal just being a .......

He's always been honest and frank, and spoken freely about both bikes and other riders, and I kind of like that about him. Other riders just blurb out standard, politically correct, and almost robotic answers to every question. Always being extremely careful not to insult or offend anyone that might have anything to do with their career (or future career), and always with a manager watching over their shoulder and giving them constant media coaching... If Cal thinks that something sucks, he's honest about it...

And to be honest, his season so far on the Ducati is looking more and more like Ben Spies season at factory Yamaha. There is one mechanical (or electrical) failure after another, and there is always something happening to the bike... Bad luck, poor engineering, bad setup, or rider error... Something is really wrong here. Cal has had a lot of DNF's this season, but how many has been crashes and rider errors really? (Although he's been throwing it in the kitty-litter a lot in FP's and QP's) Seems like the Duc has been letting him down on more than one occasion... And if I were him, I would be pretty upset too... Especially since Dovi and Iannones's bikes seems to be holding up pretty OK.

That being said... Constantly moaning about the bike to the media isn't a good think, no matter how honest it is... Both Andrea's are showing good pace on the Ducati, and making the best of the "qualifying tires", putting the bike up there in the QP's, and I think that Cal's getting really frustrated that he can't seem to figure this bike out...

I think that both parties are pretty pleased with the early break up.... Cal's squeezed a stack of "factory-euros" out of this season, and heading of to what seems to be one of the best bikes on the grid, and Ducati has secured two hard working, loyal, politically correct, and Italian riders for next season...

+1 i agree Whole heartily!

It's amazing how I never read on this forum about racers (sucking, mental case, or throwing the season) until they are a factory Ducati Rider. Is there anyone out here and especially a racer that actually feel a guy that makes a living, which supports his family, is actually going to ride a bike with over 250hp not try. With any sport if you go out there and not try or play not to hurt yourself thats when injuries occur. I would love to be one of the top 20 riders in the world!!! You all could call me horrible all day:D

I use to like Crutchlow a lot. I always thought he gave 100% at Yamaha. I think Ducati really shook him up.

I guess I also got use to the class of NH and Dovi..... They both knew the deal and never spoke poorly about things. I have also heard from a really, really reliable source that he is being a .... to all in the paddock, which is a turn off. I mean Stoner, was a whinny ....., but that was okay cause he was the God among Gods, (well even then I didn't like it)

I guess I just expect my riders to be more spartan about it.

I agree the money he was being paid for his job equates to shut the F--K UP and ride, if he has a dnf because of a Ducati mistake, oh well the pressure is off him, he got full pay for a short day. I can guarantee that Ducati wants their .... to work just as bad as the riders do.

I wish I could ride like cal crutchlow
I just don't have his budget, or super skeleton..

I would cry my self to sleep... He goes thru bikes like most of use go thru underwear..

I give him respect to be able to go out and do it day after day. He is 28y/o and has not produced what is expected of him...I think he has time to go up or down...

But let's see what lannone will do....

Good posts and can't wait to watch....
