Custom fender eliminator

I put the FE on....
Be careful not to tighten it too much. For a good fit, stock, metal and rubber washers should come off. Tip of the tail and the winglets vibrate when engine is running. Used some double sided tape to stick them to the subframe to prevent the vibration. Wish it had more anchor points like the stock one. Looks much better than the stock overall.

Did you have a gap where the bottom two clips were?

Good tip on removing the metal washer and grommet. Just re-did it today. I did the same thing with double sticky for the tip as well.

Agreed. At this point I'm thinking Orchard Supply....

My boys keep makin fun of my "bad ... bike with an ugly tailside".

I must have explained my reasons for not having removed that piece at least 10 times already. It is alwaysssssssss the first thing fellow riders mention. "Man, that's a sick bike! Why haven't you gotten a fender eliminator kit yet?"

Sighhhhh

I wish the integrated taillights were brighter for the turn signals. Ideally I'd want to take care of that while doing the eliminator kit at the same time. I may just do it anyway but we'll see.

Are these going to be available anytime soon. Looking at getting 1199 asap and would love to have this as first mod. no question its the only thing out there that completes the beauty of the hottest bike out there.

Any updates

sent you a PM - Where we at with this? I am ordering a bunch of stuff for my bike and want to add this.

I've already moved on from this. Couldn't wait no more and moved on to another option even though it is less appealing. Plus, now that I've had a few passangers on the back, I wasn't so sure that I'd want to permanently get rid of that option.

I NEED THIS!
Is there anything similar any of you guys know about??

I've emailed Competition Werkes like 15 times inquiring to buy just that metal cover plate and the lowlives never email me back.
I refuse to spend $150 on the complete fender eliminator when all I need is the metal cover piece.

I ended up trolling eBay for a few weeks and ended up getting the comp werkes eliminator for like $70. I'd like something like this though, a little more streamlined.

Why does it have such an ugly metal bracket? Not even powder coated black....

I know a guy who's done CF parts for the 848/1198. i bought a ignition cover from him, real clean work, and I can probably get him to produce a cover if enough people are interested. I'll just relay the demand, and get him to handle it from there. He sells parts, so it would become available on his site for purchase. If you guys are interested, let me know.

i dont know how to post a pic on here but i did mine for less than $20. got the universal plate bracket from EBAY and sprayed it black. bolted it in where the OEM holes are for the OEM plate holder. clean as can be, and kept the rear pegs.

Yes, but we're talking about a smooth clean tail piece that covers the original license plate holder mud flap thingy housing area...See pics from earlier in the thread!!!
