Cylinder deactivation not working

Has anyone had their cylinder deactivation stop working randomly ? I have a 2022 V4S with about 4600 miles and randomly today the cylinder deactivation no longer seems to function. Up until now when starting the bike cold it always only fired two cylinders until it was kicked into first gear. Starting it up it seems all 4 are firing and kicking it into gear so longer changes anything. I let the bIke get to the standard 3 bar operating temp and it still doesn’t change anything when I put the bike into neutral. I tried starting the bike multiple times to see if anything changes. Any idea as to what would cause this ?

When starting the bike cold, all four should run until the bike gets up to operating temp. From there, when the bike is in neutral it will turn off the rear two or when the clutch is fully pulled in. The lever has to be against the bar for the switch to engage.

Hey Alex, I saw you posted the same question so I will give you the same answer here as well:
I think what you are hearing is NOT the cylinder deactivation. The 22/23 Panigale V4 USA models close the exhaust valve at idle until you put it in gear. Cylinder deactivation will only happen once the bike is warmed up and never during cold start or warmup.

I appreciate the response. It helps to field the question on multiple platforms ahha. Yeah everything went back to normal once the bike got warm and had some time to sit. It was just weird because usually it stays in that mellow mode until it’s kicked into gear and returns every time the bike is in neutral. Either way it seems fine, I’ve got it’s annual service coming up anyway so I figured regardless this isn’t a big issue. Just wasn’t sure if I was missing something and you seem to have answered that

Any idea as to why it the exhaust valve would be stuck open ? The bike operates just fine but it has stopped closing that valve when the bike is in neutral. Whether the bike is cold or hot it stays the same. The cylinder deactivation is still functioning just fine when the bike is hot and I pull the clutch in all the way. I can still hear and feel that function perfectly. But out of nowhere it seems the bike is no longer closing that valve while in neutral. It’s extremely distinct on the 22 and newer bikes how the sound changes the moment it gets kicked into gear. I took video of this as well

Maybe a mechanical issue with the valve in the silencer.

After doing research it looks like you may be right. The valve / spring may be stuck open due to spring being corroded / jammed. I'll bring this to the dealer next week. Just because you seem to be familiar with this, do you know how involved getting to that valve is ?

The dealer will probably replace the entire silencer if still under warranty.

I fixed it by turning the key on and off 5/6 times in quick succession as I know the valve closes and opens on startup and that seems to break it free / get it moving again. Ill bring to the dealer soon and have them address it and let them know what I believe the issue is. Thank you for the help. You are the only one who pointed me in this direction
