Australia D-Air suits and Jackets to Aus

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I bought the last generation of the Alpinestars race replica suit because it was their first suit that was advertised as able to retrofit the Tech Air system in but due to liability issues they were delayed in getting it sold in the states.

By the time the lawyers got it straightened out, the current tech air vest came out and when I asked if it would fit my race replica they said no. When I asked if my suit could be modified to fit the vest since it already has the accordion stretch panels in all the right places to accommodate a blown up airbag, they still said no!! Needless to say, I won't be supporting Alpinestars anymore so I'm banking on buying a Dainese overseas and having it serviced in the US, if possible, since sending it back and forth would be ridiculously expensive.

This morning I talked to the Australian importers and they were really helpful . They will be able to "repack" the suits for Australian customers here. At the moment they are waiting on the repacking kits. I would even fork out for a spare suit if the turn around time is acceptable and the repack doesnt cost to much . Cost of shipping back and forward overseas is not viable. Dainese will be facing alot of competition in the future with this technology.

There is still a number of people who have Dianese gear not brought via the australia distributor for one reason or another which would be good to have a agent in australia willing to repair and not just do the "send it back to where you go it"

Suppose, the cost savings buying from overseas would be worth more a couple of return freight costs for replacement.

Ive had a couple of meh experiences with the australia distributor.
