First thing I noticed was that the shipping weight said 6 lbs? After arrival the box felt like they sent something other than boot that would fit me.
Once removed from the box the weight of a single race boot is shockingly light. I ordered a 44 however the out side appeared too compact to fit my foot. The outside of the boot is the most finely crafted foot wear that I have seen. Inspection of the inside was the same, however the hole where I would have to fit my foot appears way too small. Since they were here I tried to get my foot inside and at first felt that I would have to send back, however in interest of being thorough I forced my foot inside.
Part of the problem is that this is a rear entry boot and there is a heal pocket that your heel will fit into, however you have to get ahead of the pocket to get your foot seated. I puled on the rear tongue and finally stomped my foot on the floor to force my foot in. Once it the ankle area was very tight and to the point of feeling some pain. surprisingly the foot area was long enough and width was snug but fit ok.
Wearing around the house proved that the foot was actually fit very good, to my surprise. I decided to call the supplier and ask if they would loosen up a bit as the ankle would not be acceptable. I will say that after the second ride they seem fully broken in and ankle is very snug but in no way uncomfortable. The fit gives me a real feeling of security.
Warring and riding in these are an unexpected pleasure as they fit like slippers once on for some time and the feel of the controls feels more like you are warring sneakers and I find I have a better feel for the bike and controls, breaking, shifting and weighting.
Are they worth it. In my mind there is no doubt as they are twice as good as anything tried to date. If you do decide to try ware like I did around the house for some time before you decide on fit. They seem very tight when you put them on. If they don't you may want to try one size down before you decide to keep them.
