I am looking for a simple and affordable way to measure lap times and collect relevant data from track days. I see that the Ducati DDA is the same part number for both the V2 and the V4 which would indicate that the data streams are compatible. The DDA requires that the pillion be replaced and probably get the bike coded to accept the DDA. The other option is to get the AIM Solo2DL which says is compatible with the V4 but AIM can't confirm that it will pull data from the V2. If it does, the AIM solution would not only be cheaper, but would allow me to use it for other vehicles. Has anyone installed the AIM unit on their V2/V4 yet? Any thoughts, please keep the comments on topic. Thx.

My AIM is being wired up during winter service but I have used their products before and would recommend them over the DDA. The DDA file is a pain to work with outside of their dedicated software. I also despised the DDA on my '15 R, missed start/finish lines, gaps in the data, my NEXT system though ugly, blew the DDA away.

All may be irrelevant since it could be better on the current models, but just the file format would send me to AIM.

@Mattysals can you post up something about what data your S2DL captures on your V2? I am also looking at adding this to my V2 and wondered what channels it captures.

I have the AIM Solo2 DL; the lap timer is not cheap, but it is awesome and provides a huge amount of insightful data. I highly recommend the system if it fits within your budget.
I am in the process of hooking up the AIM SmartyCam video system to take self-coaching to the next level. Hopefully, I'll have some decent track video this season.

Thanks @Styler - I need no convincing of the value the S2DL adds. There are some concerns that the S2DL may not record all wanted channels such as active changes in TC, and WC rather than just the settings. I would love to hear what channels the S2DL can capture from someone using it on a V2. What bike do you have and what channels can you capture?

I have a 2012 1199S; for video overlay, I capture speed, rpm, throttle position, brake pressure, gear selection and place on the track. I know it can capture more than that; however, that is what I am most concerned with from the perspective of self-coaching via data + video overlay.

Aim solo is the way to go

I have the solo2 DL on my V4 and it’s great. You can use it on hundreds of vehicles, cars too.

Available channels are listed here:

Aim ECU configuration

Unfortunately, not all listed channels will work. If you read those instructions you listed you will see this note from AIM: Technical note: not all data channels outlined in the ECU template are validated for each manufacturer model or variant; some of the outlined channels are model and year specific, and therefore may not be applicable. It sounds like the rider aids intervention values (TC, WC, etc.) do not show up with the S2DL for the Panigale bikes, and it would be great if someone who has a V2 and someone who has a V4 could confirm what channels actually work.

I have found videos of older Ducatis (non-Panigale) showing TC intervention numbers, but none of the Panigale videos show rider aids with the S2DL. I don't think it works, which greatly reduces the value of the S2DL for me. :(

The list they show in that link is nowhere near as extensive as the S2DL is capable of.

I'm not sure what @KarlKani uses, but he used to race a 959, the ECU may be close to the same as the V2

This is RS3 for the PV4. I never used them all, so not sure which actually worked on the Euro4 Panis

By comparison, pulling up the ECU streams for a Hyper, you only get this...

I can confirm that Trq Slow (Wheelie control intervention) and Trq Fast (Traction control intervention) as well as all of the channels listed work on my 2018 V4S

Yup sorry just seen this. Will post later today.
Really, really appreciate it! There is very little information out there on what the S2DL can capture and the company does not verify each bike (would be tough to do, I guess).

@Mattysals Bump. Money burning a hole in my pocket, but want to be sure the S2DL will pick up the rider aids (TRQ slow/fast) for the V2. :)
