Does this sound about right? They also said they would charge around $100 for the install.

Pretty similar to what I was told to have it done up in Canada... But then again, we get gouged for everything here in Canada.

I have a feeling it may be a similar situation over in Hawaii.

Do you know if the package Ducati offers are DP parts or AFRAM or what?

And for some reason my parts guy is not familiar with this offer from Ducati ...smh

I did the Ducati upgrade and you get no name stuff.

Plain old sprocket and regina chain - Would have gotten cooler stuff if I did my homework. All works the same though - well for my skills anyway

My parts guy had to make a few phone calls to figure it out. In the end the service dept already had them on order for me as I mentioned I wanted to change it over while I was getting the new heat shields installed.

Well, let me know if I can take care of you guys, or anyone else in the future on stuff like this. Just here to help like it was my own bike. No commission for me, just the thrill of making someones day with "bling!" lol

Gunny HELP!

I want your help Gunny!:)

I also was quoted something around this price from my dealer but am interested in a little bling over the standard. What are your thoughts on product and cost comparison?

me, too. not quite sure what looks good but would love to see pics of what's possible. not over the top but very subtle changes for me.

Afam, Driven and PBR makes 1199 sprocket carriers and sprockets for our bikes. Check them out.

I remember getting an email or letter from Ducati they would 'cut us a break' on the sprocket change, ya know since we already spent, $20, $25, $30K. I'm sorry DNA but $261 for .... that costs you $25 from the factory is outrageous. I already see my 1199 being sold by September. Way to many QC issues with this bike to feel safe owning it out of warranty. Then you get to pay an hourly shop rate of $120 t have it installed. Wow, what a killer deal!

If anyone else wants it shoot me an email and I will send you the info.

Dont want to ruffle any feathers looking like Im pushing any products. Matter of fact several items of mine came from outside Bellissimoto. Thx

As stated in other posts. Randy is working on a special package deal for sprockets, chains, and all associated rear wheel drive train items now! ERRR

Ok, I have a few questions that have probably already been discussed on other threads/posts but would like to discuss it again for my own clarification and maybe others might find this info useful... Or maybe you like movie spam instead of rehashing old stuff?

And I did use the search feature a little but it takes a while to read through everything.

Now the questions

1) How many manufactures make a 41T? When I was searching I seen that Driven allows you to enter a tooth count but other manufactures only had 40T available.

2) This ties into question #1. From my understanding, Ducati has a specific map upgrade for the 41T conversion for DTC reasons. Is this correct? If so, that is why I would want to stick with a 41T sprocket.

3) 525 vs. 520 - I have never done this conversion before but what are the pros and cons of each. My understanding is the 520 will cut drive train weight. Can you even tell the difference? Wouldn't you have to change the front sprocket also on the 520 conversion?

Hey Flo, here's what I know , fwiw

1) I know of of 3-4, Driven, AEM, AFAM. ALTH and I think Renthal.

2) Yes, but I've heard various things from my dealer, in that it also effects dqs. I have the 41T on my bike and the dealer still hasn't gotten the new map. I've had no error messages or issues with dtc. Dqs feels a little more sluggish but that's it.

3) 520 is thinner, lighter and hence less rotating mass. Expert riders and pro racers can feel the difference. The trade off is durability, longevity. You would have to change the front sprocket to match the chain and rear sprocket.
