Help Support Ducati Forum:

@baggerman, I doubt they would. I really only plan on doing the first service with them because some haven’t told me its the most important. Other than that, I plan to do all my own service anyway. Here in Miami, most dealers (cars & motorcycles) do more bad than good when it comes to service IMO.

What are your guys thoughts on OFT? Is it true that tool can reset service intervals?

It would be great if there was a tool like the GAP IID tool I have for my wife’s Land Rover. You can do almost everything with that tool. Granted a Range Rover has like 65+ different ECUs and millions of sensors.

Obdstar's ISCAN DUCATI is a Chinese versa of Ducati's dealer tool, the DDS. They're generally about 2 years behind for full support of a particular model year. Since there hasn't been any big changes since 2022 it would likely work with a 2024 but wouldn't auto read the VIN and maybe some other functionality would be limited. I have a 2021, and it wasn't fully supported until an update in 2023. I could read every sensor on the bike, clear codes, clear oil change and yearly maintenance lights by manually selecting a 2020 Panigale V4, but wasn't able to reset my PIN code until the 2023 update.

ETA: It looks like the 2023 year bikes are supported now.

Get it tuned if youre going to keep the pipe. Ignore all the other noise about warranty etc since the bike only cares about fuel air mixture. Youve had some recommendations, trust it goes well. If you intend to use Ducati service and want them to honour the warranty, email them and ask. I had service No1 done at the shop at which point they fitted the full system and tune, since then its been DIY and nag screens but I dont care. Was going to get ODBStar to reset them but meh... doesnt bother me and I am happy with how the bike is mapped.

I personally wouldn't ride it anymore without tuning it. As in, Full Stop. You may be causing your self a problem, and the thing is you do not know if you are causing yourself a small problem or a big problem. Given that a new engine replacement is probably 7-10k, why take the chance. I do know a young guy who was naive, and even bragged to one of the shop guys about how he was treating his new bike. The engine blew up and they refused his warranty. This was just a few months ago. I don't know "Steve" but Deussen and OFT have good reputations. Since you are not an expert, I would not look any further than that. It's going to cost you $800ish. So what. You're playing with expensive machines now.

OFT is excellent with this platform and the after sales service is top notch .I can vouch for OFT as the they are super helpful and responsive!

If UpMap support the Spark muffler, go with it , it is a safe Mild tune

If not, maybe you wont get the desired result

If you want a more performance tune, maybe you should try deussen

If you are afraid of warranty claims, moding is not the right game for you

Just a heads up that dealers don’t determine what is warrantied. That’s up to the service area manager and DNA. A 3rd party exhaust and tune definitely voids your warranty if your engine lets go. If anyone tells you different, they’re an idiot and has no ideas what they’re talking about

Don’t have to worry too much about modding as long as you don’t abuse it .Change oil earlier than recommended (half mileage cycle of what they recommend)This is a very solid engine and wants you to push it as long as you take good care of it .

I'll tell you what the situation is in the Italian dealership

I fit a pair of Arrow terminals on my V4 and the workshop manager of three different assistance centers told me that to maintain the warranty on the engine the electronic mapping must necessarily be the official Ducati one (OEM or the one for Ducati exhausts by Akrapovic): if if you change the map (remap or upmap or whatever) you lose the warranty on the engine (and it doesn't seem strange to me since the same happens for all cars)

specifically about the engine light and malfunctions you certainly have problems (check if you have connected the valve eliminator to the exhaust correctly and then go and do a diagnosis in ducati) because my motorbike with arrow terminals, filter and original map is fine

p.s. i have 3 years extention warranty on my bike

And how do you get the official Ducati map installed when it is only allocated to your VIN by Ducati themselves when you purchase the genuine Akra / Ducati part number? The dealer can not just load this tune file into any bikes ECU they choose. Doesn't work that way.

No, it seems to me that the Official ducati racing map can be installed only in service connected to ducati server to associate one voucher with only one bike in the world

and every time you remove the racing map from the bike you are given a new voucher from the server

Seems like a lot of bother with a this race map.

If want to keep your warranty, don't modify, otherwise modify once warranty is up. Or forgo the warranty.

Update:

I have decided to go with Deussen Engines based off most peoples feedback. I really hope not to have any troubles that would require the warranty, but like others have said, “as long as you keep up with maintenance and take care of the engine” I should be fine.

I ordered the portable flasher last night and should get it sometime next week. Once I complete the tune I will report back with my results.

Whats up beanz , just saw your post and thought id chime in for a second.

I have a 23' Pani v4s & the Spark full Ti system , i also have Deussen engines tune. I have had a couple of his tunes so far .

I started off with Deussen providing me an exact tune for your 3/4 spark exhaust setup since he didn't have the full spark system tune ready for me yet. It worked flawlessly but in the end i had him provide me with a tune more suitable for the larger headers .

I would recommend you go with a BMC Street filter for your Panigale , as the sprint filters p08 or p08-f1 let way to much dirt and grit past the element. The sprint filters are dry and made for racing only. Many YouTube videos to prove this. You are better off knowing you have your rod bearings protected from debris in the motor than 3hp-5hp one would achieve from a air filter.

Long story short , you will be very happy with Deussen's tune. It absolutely RIPS in the midrange over stock and top end is insane. Shifts are faster , RPM's run longer in all gears, it does use more fuel but that's what happens when these bikes come super lean from the factory. Also every US model is restricted from the factory so he will unlock the engines full potential. You'll notice it right away with engine mode set to "FULL POWER".

He will email you after you marry your bike with the handheld tuner for a list of what's done to the bike so he knows which map to provide you base on which systems your bike has.

Also @beanz690 ... here's a video showing Sprint filter vs BMC vs stock paper. (testing starts at 10 minute marker of the video)

I do recommend not running the stock filter and using the BMC street filter with this tune from Deussen as they come running rich , your going to need more volume of air to compensate ... also a video of my bike running with Deussen tune as well. I've opted for Deussen's signature decel pop which is why you hear it crackle when reved, have plenty of videos on my youtube to check out if you like.

I don’t know how much of a conclusion I’d draw from that video. Interesting thought though. If I was in a particularly dusty or sandy environment I wouldn’t opt for the Sprint P08, but I’m not a fan the oiled filters either.
