I had my dash replaced a week ago and lost all my settings.
I don't feel like messing with things I don't know a lot about, and unfortunately suspension settings fall into that list. When I fist got my bike, about 11 months and 10,000klm ago, a member helped with some suggestions that really worked. I'm hoping I can re-create the magic somehow.

Bike: S Stock
Rider: big heavy sumbitch.
Roads: fast road riding, no track days. Road conditions average at best. The usual ...... bumps etc .

Since the settings being re-set, the bike now feels less stable cornering.
Front end is not too bad, rear I feel might be too stiff (despite my weight) which is creating a slight pitching fore/aft and a general feeling of skittishness that I had been able to dial out previously.
It's not "locking-in" when running through a corner if that makes sense...

If anyone has any suggested setups. I'd be most grateful.

F Comp----
F Rebound----

R Comp----
R Rebound----

Fill in the blanks.

Thanks very much in advance.

Josh.

What is your weight please? (in pounds) And no idea what "locking in" means.
I can send you my setup-which I actually took a photo of and posted on one of these threads? After P and these front and rear settings I found it rode ALOT better!

I weigh 110kg, or 240 lbs.
sag was set for my weight by tech at delivery.

"locking in" is just my term for lack of a better phrase..

You know that feeling.. once you've got the bike leant over into a turn and it just feels planted, solid and "locked" to your chosen line?

Wow, I only know of one other guy that big - RSR Racer!
Thanks for conversion too Josh!

Well I am only 200 lbs and found this setup in photo to work best for me. You will obviously want to adjust it a bit more for your frame and then play with the numbers accordingly. You will know when you got it right cause it will just feel tight when its supposed to be, and plush when it needs to be also - like moving over bumps or potholes, etc. Try going to a higher number perhaps. Good luck man!

I'm 110kg. I replaced the rear spring with a stiffer one but if you find it too soft currently then perhaps you should try these anyway.

At the front I also wound the pre-load clockwise by 10 turns to stiffen it up as well.

Worth a go ;)

With a different rear spring"¦ your rear settings would be totally different to a stock bike on those same settings, no?

Yes i would normally agree but you mentioned the rear feeling too stiff, whereas I felt it was too soft therefore I added a stiffer spring but the settings are relative to how you feel the bike is.

Anyway these are just starting points, try 16 or 18 rear compression - ultimately you are only ever looking for a starting point to tweak from.

I'm 175lb and had Dave Moss set up my suspension at the track.

Probably won't be much help to the OP, but my settings are

Front Compression: 12
Front Rebound: 12
Rear Compression: 10
Rear rebound: 9

To the OP, haha...everyone is giving very different settings and I'm gonna likely confuse you some more. Depending on lap times, Dave will often start out with a set up that is "softer" than most...there's good logic behind it. The track settings wouldn't translate well to the street though.

Perhaps the best thing is for you to do is get a general understanding of what each does so that you can make tweaks as you ride...it's pretty simple really.

Stock S settings I believe are (in the order above and on the dash):
Race - 10,14,6,8; Sport - 18,12,18,12; Wet - 28,14,28,14

I agree with Wafat and Anti though that, in Sport, a lower Front Compression number makes sense. However, with your weight on the stock spring, I would start with the stock settings and slowly INCREASE stiffness from there. You mentioned you're feeling rocking fore/aft which likely means you're on too soft of a spring so as your front end unloads, the rear squats too much and vice-versa, back and forth.

A lot has to do with the roads and your pace too so I'd take a "spirited" ride on a twisty road you're familiar with and hopefully with some bumps. I'd then ride the same stretch of road with varying settings until you feel you've got it dialed.

That's exactly my weight. How do you like those settings? I'm a track noob.
