If you're thinking of producing this, perhaps a Kickstarter campaign? I'd definitely want to contribute to your success.

Yea I have been thinking about it. I need to add couple more ribs in the design to make it stronger and add LED slot some where on it. I'm hoping to finish the final design this weekend.

If there is enough demand from you guys, I would do kickstarter or shapeways. So ya mates, let me know and I'll get to work

Cheers,

do you have some FEM simulation capabilities?

wow...putting your mind to produce physical results...I'm a designer as well...but only on paper stages ;) great work.

Will you have it black polymer?

Mate,
I don't have a black polymer at the moment. My last prototype was done in Poly carbonate (Opaque). I'm thinking about spray painting the colour I want on it. It is a tiny piece and nothing is visible unless someone is looking for it behind the license plate. I'll have some pictures up this weekend for more clarity.

Cheers

Mate,
Its only a matter of time till you jump on it. Pretty ecstatic feeling when you see your first design applied in real world. 3D printing is the next generation, we should definitely take advantage of it :)

Second Prototype

Mates,

I got this prototype printed in PolyCarbonate (Heat deflection 284 Deg F). Did a trial run around the city. The bike got around 215 deg F and the piece held on. It gets warm but doesn't get even close to melting. It fits well too! Attached are pictures of how it looks on the Pani.

Thoughts? Questions?

Cheers

It looks really good. Are you going to make a spot for a LED license plate light?

Still Working on that design, or if I could have an LED somewhere else on the bike pointing towards the license plate. Still working on what would be the cleanest without drilling any holes or loose wires hanging.

They make bolts with LEDs in them and you can run the wires right up into the tail fairings. That would be very simple to use; don't reinvent the wheel.

Looks like a functional piece of art! How about molding a new cover underneath were the stock wires come out and mold it with a license plate light mounting spot. Kinda like the CW version but cleaner and nicer than metal plates riveted together.
