Dings in forged wheels

I noticed one of my forged Marchesinis has an ever so slight ding in the rim, I suspect its from a tire change as I first noticed it one day after getting it back from a change, off course the shop denies responsibility. Doesn't affect the shape of tire at all, but purely for cosmetics Id like to knock it out, anyone done this DIY and if so any advice? My thoughts are a bit of heat and a good beating with a wooden mallet.

Have you thought about denting the rest of the rim, with a lump hammer, to give an even finish all around?

Easier than that, I'll just get the tire changed by the same shop for the foreseeable!

I'd look for a shop who fixes aluminum wheels...

Kind of like an "orange peel" paint finish
